Jake Scarpeti was asked to take the mound vs San Clemente and kept them off balance with an assortment of curve balls and fastballs on the corners. The game was sparked by a great diving defensive play in center field by Anthony Graham and a classic man on 2nd (Christian Gurrola) coming home on a clutch single by Michael Suey on a close play at the plate that showed the fans what baseball is all about. An RBI chopper by Chris Aldape kept the Spartans within reach and gutsy pitching peformances by Koichi Yamada (6th) and Joey Rotuna (7th) kept South in it all the way to the last out. When the dust had settled, South had lost 4-3.
