    Cardinals Blank Storm
The Cardinals used a solid defense and agressive base-running to shut out the Storm and get the road victory 11-0. The Cardinals stole 22 bases in the game. Alex Mitchell only allowed one hit and struck out 6 in three innings to get the win. Donovan Mills pitched one inning in relief to pick up the save. Josh Sunwall, who reached base safely on every at bat, was the offensive player of the game. He had a game high 4 stolen bases, scored 2 runs, and added a single and an RBI to go along with 2 walks. Dale Abraham and Brandon Schmidt led the team with 2 RBIs each. Zach Mitchell, Donovan Mills, and Alex Mitchell each had 3 stolen bases. With the Cardinals leading 3-0 in the 2nd inning, James Simms stole 2nd base and scored on a line shot off the center field fence by Dale Abraham. Abraham went 3 for 4, and led the Cardinals with 3 hits. The Cardinals had several superb defensive plays in the game. In the 1st inning, second baseman Brandon Schmidt made a fine stop on a grounder and threw to shortstop Donovan Mills to get the force out at second on Storm leadoff hitter Tyler E. In the 3rd inning, pitcher Alex Mitchell struck out 3 to retire the Storm. In the final inning, reliever Donovan Mills snagged a hot shot back at the mound off the bat of Storm hitter Austin W. and made the out to Zach Mitchell at 1st. Then, with an 0-2 count, he retired Ryan I. with a nasty off-speed curve ball for the second out of the inning. After completing a tough stretch of 4 games in 6 days, the Cardinals will get a well deserved 9 day break over the long Memorial Day weekend. With 2 games left, the Cardinals stand atop the league with a 15-0 record. The next game will be on the road at Sardis against the Cubs.
