SW York Silences Red Lion Roar
In a 5 1/2 inning game called for darkness, Southwestern York remained unbeaten by knocking off previously unbeaten Red Lion by a score of 11-5. Despite falling behind 1-0 in the top of the 1st, SW York tied the game in the bottom of the 1st and never looked back, scoring runs in each of their 5 at-bats of the game ... 3 runs in the 2nd, 4 runs in the 3rd, 1 run in the 4th and 2 runs in the 5th. Kurt Seiders kept Red Lion's bats at bay during his 5 innings of work - recording 6 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk. Holding an 11-2 lead in the 6th, righty Dave Walker came in and worked off some rust with mop up duties as he continues to recover from his shoulder injury.
For SW York, the hit parade was early and often, led by Seiders going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Matt Hockenberry showed some warning track power as he doubled off the left center fence and picked up 2 RBI's. Catcher Ben Zimmerman scored 3 runs, while Brian Bossom and Cavan O'Reilly each added a pair of hits to their name!
Up next for SW York is Glen Rock on Sunday @ 5:00 in Glen Rock!!!
