The 2006 Season
Parents & Players,
This has been a record breaking year for St. Peter's lacrosse, we have had a record number of players register this year which resulted in the largest number of teams for St. Peter's! I want to thank all the parents that stepped forward to volunteer their time and efforts to coach this great group of lacrosse players! Each year we have some great parents as well as friends of the program step forward to coach a team and we wanted to thank each of you for outstanding efforts!
This year we had several boys and girl’s teams advance to the first and second rounds of the Midget and Junior levels playoffs. Of those teams the boys Junior A and girls Junior C advanced to the MYLA Championship games and won this past Sunday. A big congratulations to all the boys and girls Tyker, Lightning, Midget and Junior level players, coaches, and assistants for an outstanding and record breaking 2006 lacrosse season!
After 10 years of coaching and the last 5 years as the girl’s program director Mark Brady is leaving the St. Peter's Lacrosse Program. After having this job for a year, I fully appreciate all of Mark’s tireless efforts year-round to coordinate, orchestrate, and facilitate the St. Peter's girls lacrosse program season after season to bring the girls side of the program to where it is today -- one of the most respected, successful and competitive girls lacrosse programs in the area! As a coach his teams have been very successful bringing home the first Midget and Junior level MYLA Championships for St. Peter’s girl lacrosse! For all who have participated in the girl’s side of the program, please give Mark a big THANK YOU!! I would also like to let you know that Brian McQuaid has volunteered to take over as girls program director for the upcoming 2007 lacrosse season.
In addition, I wanted to recognize the contributions of Pat McCormick and Phil Sackett, they volunteered hundreds of hours to the development and growth of St. Peter’s lacrosse for the past 10 years. I wanted to acknowledge their tremendous efforts and outstanding contributions to the growth and development of St. Peter’s Lacrosse in Montgomery County as well as state-wide recognition. Pat and Phil coached several of our Junior AA boys teams to the MYLA Championships and onto the Maryland State Junior Championships. For all who have participated in the boy’s side of the program please give Pat and Phil a big THANK YOU!
Thanks to all the parents, players, coaches and other volunteers that made this the best lacrosse season ever!
