USOEC Freestyle shines at Oklahoma Duals

OKLAHOMA CITY February 16, 2008 – The U.S. States Olympic Education Center (USOEC) freestyle resident athlete program wins 10 of 14 bouts versus Oklahoma City University (OCU) and 9 of 11 bouts versus Missouri Valley College (MVC) Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena on the campus of OCU.

Four duals were wrestled by the USOEC in the Olympic Games and World Championship weight classes and forfeits were given in the weight classes that are currently non world championship weights.

The focus of the USOEC is to prepare athletes to wrestle in weight classes held at the Olympic Games, Sr. World Championships, World University Games, and Pan American Games competitions and these weight classes are 48kg (105.5 lbs.) 51kg (112 lbs.), 55kg (121 lbs.), 63kg (138 lbs.), 67kg (147 lbs.), & 72kg (158 lbs.).

The USOEC freestyle team competed in the OCU Duals as a tune up for the Japan training camp to be held at Chukyo Women’s University (Nagoya, Japan) February 29, 2008 - March 9, 2008.
