The FISU University National Team is determined annually at the University Nationals. FISU is the international federation that governs freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling for the World University Games and World University Championships.

Champions of University Nationals earn the privilege to represent Team USA at the World University Championships.

Top 6 athletes in each of 4 Olympic weight classes and top 5 athletes in each of 3 non-Olympic weight classes at University Nationals qualify for funded access.
