This news came a little out of the blue, but I was informed this week that long time player and captain Larry Turner will be resigning for the remainder of the 2016 season due to an ACL injury.  Larry will, of course, remain captain of the Dog Catchers with Randy Hipkin and coach the All-Star team.

The Dog Catchers will try to change their fortunes with new player Dion Bickford beginning next week.  No one expects Dion to be a saviour.  But his AAA coach in Syracuse speaks highly of him.  

Welcome to the winningest team in the history of the league Dion.

Who's hotter than the Dusty Cleats????  The sun.  Hell.  Jamaican patties. Edwin Encarnacion.    

That's it.  8 in a row baby, that's a nice long run.  

There's lots of different ways to carve up the standings, points, GBL and winning percentage being the most common.  And while no position 1 thru 15 is locked down, it would appear that the Cleats and Draft Kings are getting a little separation form the pack.  

So I'm going to give the Dusty Cleats a little free advice.  In 2011 these same Cleats and Lucky Stiffs (franchise was revoked) both started 11-0.  Now everyone forgets that the lowly Grisslies snuck into 2nd place by the end of the season because both these clubs were so dominant.  Well in 2011 the only team that beat both of these squads was the Hurtin' Units.  

This season, the Sliders have been the only team to derail the Draft Kings.  In 6 games from now the Cleats play the Sliders.

Oh.....I've been asked by several member of the Dodge City Rounders to say something nice about the team because they get "no love" on the website.  So here it goes.
