There is no bigger news than the Help The Kids Play tournament weekend! It runs from July 8th - 10th and features the All Star Game; Mens, Oldtimers and Ladies divisions; BBQ, live band, fully stocked bar, shuttle transportation to and from town on Friday + a DJ and a home run hitting contest. Wow! Oh and did I mention it's $20.00 to play and free to attend and partake in the event?
Donations to Help The Kids Play are warmly welcomed.

The week that was in baseball.
The Cleats and Kings continue to roll! Enough about the rich teams.
The Dog Catchers still haven't won. But with their 3 ties and not being 1/2 way through the season yet; I'm not even close to starting to compare to our all time exceptionally bad teams (2013 Grisslies, 2012 Cleats and 2010 Dodge)
However; lets take a look at the next tier below the top. We have the Rusty Rebels, Hurtin' Units and Inglorious Batsters as the only other teams that are at least 2 games over .500.
Now the Rebels have only won 2 of their last 5 so I don't know how long they'll stay in this group, however they are the only one of the three teams to be 3 games over .500, so they do have a little more wiggle room.
The Hurtin' Units, on the other hand; after starting the season 1-4 and have won 4 of their last 5 and 6 out of 7. They are HOT and trending in the right direction. To be clear, they aren't "Dusty Cleat - HOT" but still pretty damned hot.
And the last team in this group are the Batsters. They have a respectable 3 wins in their last 5 with their only loss coming to the Hurtin' Units, mixed in with a tie to the Multiple-Personality-Disorder Grisslies. I don't know that we've seen the best of these guys yet.

The beat goes on! Or, the Cleat goes on! This week the Dusty ones dispatched the Dog Catchers to win their 9th in a row and defend the Beer Cup for the 4th consecutive game.
