Tottenham Oldtimers Slo-Pitch League

Well, the unthinkable happened!  We lost games to rain.  After 24 consecutive games played, we lost this past Monday night.  I suppose it was bound to happen, but we did get off to a great start!  You will notice, when you look at the schedule page that the rained out games show up as postponed (PPD).  The games have already been rescheduled for June 1st and June 13th and you'll see those on the schedule now.  

AND....

If you've signed up for game notification alerts, you'll get an email 24 hours in advance of your rescheduled game just like you do with all the other games.  Handy, eh?

So, the week that was in baseball.  

The Draft Kings sit alone in 1st place with a 4-0 record, nicely done boys.  The Dog Catchers are the only team without a win, but everyone has garnered at least a point.  

The Sons Of Pitches and the Dusty Cleats had the biggest weeks, with both clubs going 2-0.  They both went from 0-3 and a bit if trouble to 2-3 and 2 1/2 games out of 1st place.  

First place might be an issue this season.  I'll be the first to say it, but I'm reminded of the 2011 Cleats with the Draft Kings.  You have to bring your 'A' game for sure!. 

Housekeeping....

The league executive are very much aware of the damage that was done at Coventry Park during routine field maintenance.  We are meeting with the town next week to talk about a go forward plan and potentially compensation for our $2000.00 donation to the fields.  

Topics at the next captain's (executive board) meeting includes:  1. Potentially dangerous plays at 2nd base, 2. Contending with the sun on C2  

Score sheets, as usual need to be turned in at the drop box at the Legion, unless otherwise handed from the captain to Lou, Danny or myself.    

Beer Cup..........

We have had 5 Beer Cup games so far and NO ONE has been able to defend it for even a single game.  What the heck?  

The Tap Masters were the latest victims, falling to the Rusty Rebel who won it back after losing it to the Hurtin' Units.  On Tuesday at 9:30 the Sons Of Pitches, who are on a roll, will try to wrestle it away!
