FIRST STRIKE DEFINED:
Getting one's retaliation in first. In warfare the first (or pre-emptive) strike strategy aims to maximize damage to one's enemy; combining the element of surprise (SPECIAL TEAMS), the full deployment of (OFFENSIVE) capability, and undermining an opponent's ability to respond (DEFENSE).

FIRST STRIKE 2012 - "Fight like a Knight"

First of all, let's be clear here. We do not contend that football is in any way, shape, or form like true combat. We respect all our men and ladies that serve our country and realize we play a game. Those serving are playing for keeps. In fact, our team leadership award, The Garrett Gingrich Leadership Award, honors one of our Union graduates. We are proud of Garrett and others that have served, are serving, or will serve our country.

From a football prospective WE want to emphasize what WE want to accomplish from this day forth is a commitment to believe in the First Strike creed. WE do not want to sit back and wait, WE want to be aggressive. WE want to go for it. WE believe in bringing our A game to every workout, practice, or game.
