Name: Jared Pospisil

Title: Asst Head Coach -Defensive Coordinator - Secondary

Other Info: This is Jared's fifth year as Union's defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. Jared is also Union High School's assistant head football coach.

The 2011 state champions had great improvement on defense which helped win post season games over Washington, Maquoketa, Solon, A-D-M, and the title game giving up on 14 points to Decorah.

Pospisil has written several articles for X and O labs which is a on-line coaching resource. Jared also handles video exchange and is an assistant with the strength & conditioning staff at UHS. His expertise is acceleration and deceleration.

Coach Pop coached Jared Wauters who is a defensive back at Wartburg College and Brad Siebel who plays DB at Coe College.

Previously, Jared served as defensive coordinator at Waterloo West High, special teams coordinator and defensive line coach at Charles City, a sophomore coach at Montgomery-Lonsdale High (MN), and volunteered for West Central and Vermillion High Schools and the Dakota Lawdawgs (all in SD).

Jared earned a BA in English, BS in education, and masters in special education, from the University of South Dakota, where he also played defensive back for the Coyotes.

Jared currently lives in La Porte City, with his wife, Sarah, and his two girls, Addison and Elliette. They are expecting a third child very soon.
