Through the first four weeks of the football season, Union running back Wes Burnside has rushed for nearly 900 yards thus far. But those numbers have not been something that have surprised this standout junior.

"Not at all. I am confident in our offensive line so I am confident that we can put up big numbers."

Burnside feels the Knights can get better but has been having fun thus far.

"It has been going really good. We got a lot of stuff to fix up but we are still doing good."

Consistency is something that Burnside feels can improve.

"At times, we are up and down. Overall, our offense line is playing great. Trev (Hadachek) is playing good."

A 46-45 win over Dewitt last Friday helped Burnside push his team to 4-0 on the fall.

"It was really thrilling because we were down. We just came out in the second half with fire. We started stopping the run. We could never find the ball so we worked hard to do that."

Burnside knows that the only thing that stands in the way of a fifth win is Anamosa.

"I think they are a lot better than they have been in the past. I think we can't down play them."

Recruiting has remained steady for Burnside thus far.

"It has been about the same. I've been getting some letters from Iowa. That has been about it."
