Union wins over Columbus 50-0! 4 TO's and 2 KOR's for TD's

Union was up 9-0 with 17 seconds off the clock thanks to a kickoff that turned into a safety and a Knight kickoff return that went the distance. The Union Knight defense was smothering all night long only giving up 51 total yards in four quarters. Will Crees returned an interception for a pick six for 14 yards and Tyler Fishels and Trev Hadachek also had interceptions on the night. Christian Gray added a fumble recovery to give the Knights four turnovers total.

Union special teams also provided key field position all night long including two kickoff returns for touchdowns. The first was by Kolten Bader for 78 yards and then freshman Justin Carey took another one back 98 yards. The 98 yard return breaks Zach Purdy's 93 yard return in 2009 vs. Anamosa.

The Knight offense was led by Jay Scheel who was 5 of 8 for two TDs and he also rushed three times for 56 yards and one TD.

Union who is the #1 seed in 2A district 3 will host Mt. Vernon who is #4 seed in district 4 on Wednesday night at 7pm.
