Driscol talks Waukon

Although they lost last weekend, Union athlete Brady Driscol knows that his team can still accomplish a lot this fall on the gridiron.  This standout still remains confident with what his club can do going forward.

"I think it is going pretty good from what we lost last year. We have a lot of guys that have stepped up and it is going well."

The Cascade game is something that Driscol is learning from.

"We had a slow start in the first half really. Then we picked it up in the third but it was too little too late."

Driscol and company have their toughest test of 2013 Friday against the #2 rated team in Class 2A.

"Waukon is really good and they are well advertised. They have a lot of great players. They are fundamentally sound and well coached. It is going to be a tough game."

There are a lot of players on the opposition that Driscol will be focusing on.

"We know that they are a run team so we'll have to buckle down and get to it. They have a really good quarterback and a running back so we'll have to lock on to those two guys. The defense is outstanding as well."

Driscol talked about what could help his club have a successful run.

"I think penalties and turnovers will be the biggest keys. We have had way too many penalties and we need to cut those down. Whoever wins the turnover battle will have a better chance of winning the game."

Recruiting has not come in yet for Driscol but he has kept a close eye on two teams growing up.

"I've always been an Iowa fan. I really like Duke basketball but for football I just stay with Iowa."
