Dysart, Iowa, athlete Trev Hadachek made the three and a half hour trip to Madison for the Wisconsin Badgers' spring game, and it definitely seemed like the Badgers made a good impression on the 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect.

Hadachek was one of many prospects in Madison on Saturday.
"(It was) good - I was with my dad and when we pulled in I was shocked," Hadachek told BadgerBlitz.com Monday night. "I think that Crazy Legs race was going on, and I'd never seen so many runners. Then we got inside the old gym and met the coaches and stuff like that.

"The campus is awesome and the stadium is great, too. That new facility that they're building is definitely going to be first class."

It certainly sounds like the Badgers pulled out all the stops for the recruits during their spring game weekend. In addition to eating and talking with the coaching staff, Hadachek and the other recruits toured the Wisconsin campus and got to see what the Badgers are planning for upgrading their facilities.

"They took us into the auditorium and they showed us what their new layout is going to look like," Hadachek said. "And then we had a player panel where you asked the players questions, and after that we headed to the spring game. And then after that we went back (indoors) and we talked with the coaches again."

The player panel in particular was interesting for Hadachek, who got to talk with players like redshirt junior linebacker Ethan Armstrong. The Badgers haven't offered Hadachek a scholarship at this time, so if he were to join the Badgers it would be as a walk-on.

"(Armstrong) was there, and you know he seems like he was in kind of the situation I'm in," Hadachek said. "He was a walk-on, and he was on the edge between a scholarship and a walk-on, so it was really cool hearing from him.

"The way they're handing out their scholarships for my class, they said they don't know if they're going to offer any defensive backs. That's what they're looking at me to play. I talked to coach Chris Ash and he said that he wants me to come to camp, and based on my performance I'll find out whether they want me to walk on or whatever happens after (that).

"If the opportunity presented itself, I'd have to sit down with my family and talk about it. But I really like it there."

Ash has been talking with Hadachek the most so far, and actually knows Hadachek's father from his days coaching in Iowa.

"The one thing with coach Ash is that he's really honest with me ? I really respect that," Hadachek said. "He lets me know where I sit at all times when I talk to him, and we run the same type of defense as they do, so that really helps me. He told me he liked my film, and he really wants me to work with me at camp, so I'm really excited to get up there and work with him."

Hadachek was also really impressed with the Badgers fans who braved the cold weather on Saturday to watch the annual spring game.

"The fans were crazy," Hadachek said. "I couldn't believe (it) - even for the spring game. It was like 40 degrees out and a couple guys had their shirts off, I couldn't believe it.

"I was freezing, but I mean even the players were talking about how crazy their fan base is. So that's definitely something I would love to play around."

Hadachek currently hold offers from North Dakota and Eastern Illinois, but Iowa State, South Dakota State, Iowa, Northern Illinois, Minnesota, and Northern Iowa have also shown interest recently. He doesn't have any real favorites at this point, but he said his goal is to play Division 1 football.

Hadachek said he's planning on visiting Northern Illinois and Iowa State sometime soon, but he's also planning on making another trip to Madison for a camp in late June.
