Union Knights Football Team

Congratulations to senior Damon Powell of La Porte City for signing a National Letter of Intent to play football at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Damon is the son of Susan Powell and Dave Powell. Damon was a 2nd team 3A District 4 defensive player and he also named the Most Improved Player on the record setting 2009 football team. Mr. Powell played defensive cornerback for the Knights and will continue that role with IWCC.

IWCC is heading into their second year of NJCAA football. They finshed (5-4) last year. In addition to Powell, the Reivers have former Union Knight Matt Harting who is playing defensive end.
