Heckt becomes first member of Union football team to commit to playing college football!

Senior co-captain Tanner Heckt  verbally committed to play football at Buena Vista University today.   Tanner, 6'5, 230lbs, is part of a senior class that won a 2A district title, a 3A state championship, and had a combined 21 wins in the last two seasons.   Heckt was a first team 2A D3 all district performer for the Knights at offensive tackle.   He also started at defensive end and played on special teams.  

Tanner was a 2nd team all academic district team member and a member of the Unity Council.   He also particpates in basketball and track at Union.   Tanner's parents are Bob Heckt and Angela Keese Jackson.   Heckt lives in Dysart.

Buena Vista is a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and is located in Storm Lake, Iowa.   The Beavers finished in a five way tie for 2nd place this fall.   For more information you can click on this link:  www.bvu.edu/athletics/sports/football
