MOT United Tryout FAQ
What are the tryout dates for the 2012/2013 season?

Monday June 4, 2012 at 7:00PM to 8:30PM
and
Wednesday June 6, 2012 at 5:30PM to 7:00PM

Both tryouts are being held at Middletown Village Park in Middletown, DE. Please contact Bud West at CoachBud@UnitedRevolution.org if you require directions.

Do players need to attend both tryout nights?

No they do not however it is highly recommended that all interested players attend both sessions. The more time spent trying out gives coaches more time to give each player a more realistic evaluation. Players who do not attend either session will not be considered as interested in joining or remaining with the team.

If a player is interested and it is not possible to make the tryout nights make sure to contact one of the coaches before the first tryout date. We will make every attempt to accomodate these players.

Who will be doing the evaluations?

Coaches from the club will be assisting the 2012/2013 United coaches and contributing to the decision making process.

How many openings exist on the team?

United could take as many as 22 players. This number is based on roster limit rules by age group dictated by the Delaware Youth Soccer Association. The decision to fill or not fill all the openings will be made based on tryout attendance.

Will the coaches be returning next year?

United's current coaches all plan to return at the present time.

How many players are expected to tryout?

We are expecting roughly 25 to 30 players to tryout based on our current roster and players who have contacted us and expressed interest in the team.

If there is an overly large turnout will a second team be formed?

It is possible. That decision would be made at the club level by the Representative Director and Board of Directors. Additionally it would depend on the skill level of the players who tryout and the ability of the club to secure a coach with the minimum credentials required by the state organization for this age group. Coach Bud would assist the club and new coach in getting a new B-team for Under-15 rolling if it was approved. Whether or not that team would coordinate with United on training and events would be up to the new head coach.

When will players find out if they have been selected?

The coaches plan to begin roster discussions immediately follwing the second tryout night. We will begin contacting players as early as the weekend following the second tryout night. All players will be contacted regarding whether they have or have not been selected.
