Victor 4, Canandaigua 1

In a test of unbeaten teams, Victor prevailed over cross-town rival Canandaigua, 4-1.  Halfway through the game, it was close and physical, with both teams trying to wear down the other (http://pointstreak.com/prostats/gamesheet_full.html?gameid=3248069).  Andrew Crean opened the scoring corralling the rebound off Connor Gelabert’s shot from the point and beating the goalie on a nice backhand high to the blocker side.  Canandaigua answered quickly, however, tying the game 3 minutes later.  Victor built a cushion at the end of the period, adding 2 goals, with Gelabert scoring a power play goal and Mitch Rydzynski scoring short-handed, helping Victor head into the closing period with a 3-1 lead.  Jack McCandless finished out the scoring with a little over 2 minutes left in the game.  Another BIG assist to the student section as the game environment was awesome – keep coming out!  After a quick Holiday break (Merry Christmas, boys!), Victor (7-0-2) next plays Skaneateles (5-2-0) in their home tournament on Friday, Jan 5 at 7:15 at the Skaneateles Community Center.
