Sectionals Quarterfinal -- Victor 2, Rush Henrietta 1
Though winning 2-1, Rush Henrietta again gave Victor all that it could handle in a tight opening Sectional game (http://pointstreak.com/prostats/gamesheet_full.html?gameid=3291281). The game remained scoreless through the first period. Victor got on the board first early in the second as Sam Lambert sent a beautiful back door pass to Connor Gelabert streaking in from the point. His shot beat the RH goalie to give Victor the 1-0 lead. RH answered quickly, scoring a power play goal less than a minute later. End of second, tied 1-1. Again, Victor scored early in the period as Evan Millspaugh’s seeing eye shot from the point was deflected by Ashton Collazo skating through the middle. Both teams had chances the rest of the way and Chayse Ierlan had to come up big as Victor managed to keep the puck out of the net in a mad scramble in front with a little over seven minutes remaining. He again had to come up big as Victor spent the last 38 seconds of the game with two men in the penalty box and the RH goalie pulled. After a couple of big saves, Victor cleared the puck down the ice and the final horn sounded. Victor (15-0-4) next plays the winner of the Pittsford (11-6-2) – Webster Schroeder (12-6-0) game on Thursday, Feb 22 at 6:00 at the Gene Poliseni Ice Complex at RIT.
