Victor 5, Webster-Schroeder 2

Victor defeated Webster-Schroeder 5-2 to remain undefeated (http://pointstreak.com/prostats/gamesheet_full.html?gameid=3248011). Ashton Collazo opened the scoring with 6 minutes remaining in the opening period. It was a “sneaky Pete” goal as Ashton snuck out from the corner with the puck and beat the Schroeder goalie from a bad angle. Roman Czornobil got his first Victor varsity goal early in the 2nd period, putting away the rebound off a Jack McCandless shot. The play started off a nice hustle play from Evan Millspaugh to keep the puck in the zone and then feeding McCandless in the slot. Two Victor special team’s goals, both by Andrew Crean, seemed to break the game open. The first, a power play goal, was the result of nice passing from Josh Albert at the point to Sam Lambert behind the net who found Crean alone on the opposite side of the goal. The second of the night for Crean was a short-handed goal a nice chip off the boards by Lukas Miller sprung Crean in alone on a breakaway, which he buried. Jack McCandless scored the final Victor goal. The defense played strong as even though Chayse Ierlan turned aside 39 shots, only a few were strong scoring chances. Victor (3-0) next plays Gates-Chili/Wheatland-Chili (1-2) on Tuesday night at 5:00 at the Genesee Valley Recreation Center.
