VA Select 15U Win the Battle of the Bluff in nail-biter over Edge Elite
Coach Eric Richardson's VA Select 15U boys team overcame a first round defeat to reel off 4 consecutive victories enroute to capturing the 5th Annual Battle of Balls Bluff in Loudoun County this past weekend. The 15U select team defeated the Loudoun Xtreme Elite in their second game then followed that win with a victory over the Warrenton Wizards. After beating the Wizards, the Select set their eyes on the Wildcats with a spot in the championship on the line.
After defeating the Wildcats in the semi-final match-up, the Select team knew they had to bring home the championship for their fans in attendance and the many fans of Virginia Select basketball! In a finals contest that was back and forth, the Select 15U came away with a hard fought 58-54 overtime victory over the Edge Elite team to win the Championship in a thriller. The championship was the second of the AAU season for Coach Richard and Coach Wilkins lead team.
