Wickliffe Baseball League holds first annual High School Clinic

On Saturday June 6th at Coulby Park, the Wickliffe Baseball League and Wickliffe High School Baseball team joined forces for the first annual Baseball Clinic. The clinic was organized by Wickliffe Baseball President Edward Zivnoska, who also serves as coach of the Wickliffe Blue Devils High School Summer team.  Zivnoska said of the event, "I organized the event because it was something I did as a kid growing up in Euclid.  It made such a lasting impression on me that I wanted our kids in Wickliffe to experience that."

Zivnoska organized the clinic and ran an infield practice for the high school team prior to the Clinic. The clinic was run completely by the high school players while Zivnoska and his assistants Ed Kucia and Tim Shirer looked on.

The Blue Devils players went out to their starting positions on the field and the Wickliffe Little League players ran out to the positions to get instruction from the players at the positions they play.  The players rotated to different positions three times during the approximately hour and a half clinic.

The clinic from every indication was a success from the stand point of the Blue Devils players learned coaching is not easy and the little league players got to learn from boys that they someday hope to follow in their footsteps and play on the field at Coulby 1 or even Progressive Field.
