WPYB will be implementing a new bat standard for the 2018 season. The league has decided to follow the new USA Baseball standards that will be implemented on January 1, 2018. We have decided to follow suit with a multitude of other youth baseball organizations including American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball & Dixie Boys Baseball, Little League Baseball and PONY Baseball.

This change will effect the National and American League at this time. The Pony League players will still use the BBCOR standard that was established years ago.

In 2018, WPYB will allow for one year grace period and players will be able to use the old bat standard for next season only. We understand that parents may have purchased bats in 2017 for their player and we are allowing them to use those bats for one more season. Players CAN use the new USA Baseball bats in 2018 but after next season, ALL bats at AL and NL must conform to new USA Baseball Standards.

Follow the links below for more information on this new standard.
