Boy Scout Troop 77 Website
DeWitt Troop 77 established this website Fall, 2007 to help improve communication between the patrols, troop, and parents. Information regarding all camp outings, events and troop meetings can be found by clicking on the event title on the calendar page. A complete streamlined Troop 77 calendar can also be printed off from the calendar page. See the Current Troop Needs page for information on how you or your son can help advance the goals and aspirations of Troop 77. Male and female adults alike are always welcome to step forward to get involved with the many facets of Troop 77.

Troop Meetings
DeWitt Boy Scout Troop 77 meets the first three Wednesdays of the month, September through May. Troop Meetings are located in the lower level of the DeWitt Memorial Building. The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Scouts should attend in Class A uniform with a t-shirt underneath (dodgeball mania) and bring their Boy Scout books, a writing utensil, and note paper. The goal of the DeWitt scouting program is to assist in the development of responsible and respective young men. They must be mindful as their roles as citizens of their community. The scouting program is a boys run program. It is the role of the Troop and it's supporting adults to advise these young men, not to step in and do the work. Therefore, parents of scouts will not receive phone calls from Adult Troop leadership notifying them of upcoming events. It is the responsibility of the scout to be aware of upcoming events through the Scout Troop Leadership.

Troop Campouts
Troop 77 campouts and weekend activities are generally scheduled for the third weekend of the month. Scouts meet at the Memorial Building early Friday evening and return to the Memorial Building late morning/early afternoon on Sunday. Troop 77 boys and adults always travel in their Class A uniform. Parents who go on weekends generally bring their own tent and work together on adult food. Boys cook for themselves by patrols.

PLC Meetings (Patrol Leaders Council)
The Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meets the 4th or 5th Wed of the even months of the school year (Feb/Apr/Oct/Dec). The Patrol Leaders Council is made up of the Boy Leadership of Troop 77. They are responsible for planning troop meeting activities.

Troop Committee (Adult) Meetings
Male and female adults alike who are passionate about the future of Boy Scout Troop 77 and the emotional growth and leadership development of Troop 77 boys meet the last Wednesday of the odd months (Jan/Mar/May/July/Sept/Nov)to conduct new and old business on behalf of the Troop under the leadership of Committee Chair Greg Jonas.

The role of the Troop Committee is to provide all the necessary support for the Troop's Scoutmaster, Bob Wegener. All Troop 77 parents and guardians are encouraged to get involved in the Troop Committee and support the efforts of Troop 77. Troop Committee Challenge Training through Chief Okemos Council is required for formal participation.
