PUNT, PASS and KICK
Hello,
I would like to thank all the players, parents and volunteers for what I consider the best PPK ever. We could not have done this without our fabulous coordinators, Carole Ladson and Angela Dickens. Everything went off without a hitch and the kids had fun. I would also like to thank Sandy Baker and Carla Steele for all their hard work today with concessions and apparel. Dedicated volunteers are what make our program the huge success it is today.
You probably don't realize the months of hard work Carole and Angela put into planning this event and the volunteers that worked countless hours in the background helping to pull off this incredible day. Because of their dedication to the program, we had a day that will be hard to top in years to come. I really can't say it enough, THANK YOU.
See you all on the field,
Charlie Dunn,
Area Director Urbana Football

MVA ID Card
Parents,
I wanted to clarify the MVA ID Card issue. Every child must show proof of age and identification so the MMYFCL requires a MVA ID Card. This is a Maryland Identification Card and you get it at the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA). According to the lady I spoke with at the MVA this is what you need to have in order to get the card. A parent must take the child (not a friend or relative) to the MVA and have the child's official birth certificate and the original social security card and it must be signed by the child. If you don't have the Social security card a passport is accepted. The card is good for two years, the cost is $5.00 and you do not need to fill out a form. You will pick the card up right there when you pay. The ID card looks like a drivers license. It has his or her picture, address and birth date on the card.
I have been told by a couple of parents that they did not need the social security card. If you have it I would take it to be safe if you don't you can give it a try and the worst that would happen is you waste some time at the MVA.
Register on-line now, Just click the football helmet and it will link you to the on-line registration page or go to the link button on the left and look for the registration link. We need to order equipment, uniforms and many other items, so please register as early as possible. Remember all coaches and team parents must register themselves as a coach or team parents before you will be able to be considered for such or help the

We had a great turn out for equipment pick-up. If you still need equipment or need to exchange please let your coach know right away. Our first practice will be without pads and immediately following practice your coach will make sure you get your equipment. All practices will be held at the Urbana Fire Hall Fields.
Directions to the Urbana Fire Hall: From Mount Airy area take Route 80 towards Frederick. Follow all the way until you hit Route 355 and make a right. Go 1/4 of a mile and Fire House is on the left. We are at the field to the right of the Fire House.

In addition all our teams age 7 and over play on full size game fields with paid referees in real games regardless of division, skill level or experience. Many of our games are played on turf fields just like Ravens Stadium. Our 5 and 6 year olds play in the Pit Bull division and play full contact real football in a patient encouraging atmosphere. We guarantee play time for all our participants and coaches are committed to teach the fundamentals of football in competitive situations but remember having fun is important for young athletes. We are the lowest cost youth football program around if you take into consideration everything that is included with your fee.

I-70 NEWS
We have had some important changes with I-70 over the last week. Many rumors have been floating around about I-70 going under. These rumors are true in a manner of speaking. I-70 still exists, but under a new name and new league. The Urbana Hawks now have all teams in one league. The MMYFCL has gotten together with the I-70 division and has created a MMYFCL division for I-70. I-70 is now called the United Division in the MMYFCL. A few changes have happened in the rules. The 13U will follow the National Division must play rule, All other levels will follow the Federal league must play rules. Teams will weigh-in weekly like all other teams, must use the spotter sheets at each game and all teams will follow all other high school federation rules. It is everyones great hope that over the next few seasons the rest of the MMYFCL teams will add to the new division makeing it much stronger. The MMYFCL now has a division for every child who wants to play football. Urbana is proud to be part of such a great league and thanks the MMYFCL and the I-70 league for working so hard to make this great experience happen for our families.
