Warrington Soccer Club
Round Robin Tournament Rules
These rules are for Intramural tournaments for the U-12 and
up age brackets. Other rules are available for U-7, U-8, U-10. U-6 and below do not
have a tournament.
Click on the age group for the schedule.
The schedule for the tournament shall be created at the
beginning of the season from a random combining of teams. The won-loss
record of each team shall have no bearing on the playoffs.
Rules for the Tournament
- Unless otherwise indicated here, normal Warrington
Soccer Club rules apply.
- Each team will play a minimum of two games.
- The game will consist of two halves with a 5-minute
halftime
intermission between halves. The time period for each half will be
determined by age group and time availability. The recommended
times will be followed for each age group.
- U-12: 2 x 25-minute halves (8 minute halftime)
- U-15: 2 x 25-minute halves (8 minute halftime)
- There is no overtime for the round robin games in the
tournament.
See rule 11 for the Final game.
- Points are awarded as follows:
- Win - 4 points
- Win (Forfeit) - 3 points
- Tie - 2 points
- Loss - 0 points
- A forfeit is declared if one team fails to have one player
less than the required number to play, 15 minutes after the scheduled
game time (10 players). In the event of forfeit, the winning score is
1-0.
- Both coaches must provide scores to the age group
coordinator or
his/her designee.
- After all teams have
completed their scheduled games, the two teams
scoring the most points will face each other in a final championship
game. Except in 5 team division. See #10
- Group play: If your tournament has designated
groups (A and B) then the team with the most points in Group A plays
the team with the 2nd most points in Group B for the semi-final. The
team with the most points in Group B will face the team with the 2nd
most points in Group A. Winners will play in championship game.

overtimes are played. There will be a 5-minute break between the end of
regulation and the first overtime. Initial ball possession will be

receive initial possession during the second overtime. The team to
score the first goal in either overtime wins the game.

The tournament should be a fun
experience for everyone involved. Trophies will be awarded to first and
second place teams. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
