WCAA BASKETBALL IS BACK
December 1, 2007 - --
U7 Boys and U7 Girls 5 & 6 year old boys and girls play on a 7 high goal and use a 27.5 ball. Its a lot of fun and great for the parents to watch. Players learn basic basketball in a team structure. Having fun is the key.
U9 Boys and U9 Girls 7 & 8 year olds play on an 8 1/2 high goal and use 27.5 ball. Fundamentals and the rules of the game are stressed. Parents will want to sign up soon as this age group fills up quick.
U11 Boys and U11 Girls 9 & 10 year olds play on a 8 1/2 or 9' high goal and use 28.5 ball. Fundamentals and the rules of the game are stressed. Parents will want to sign up soon as this age group fills up quick.
U13 Boys and U13 Girls 11 & 12 year olds play on a 10 goal and use a 28.5 official size ball. Fundamentals and the rules are stressed. This is our most popular age so sign up before all teams are full.
U15 Boys and U15 Girls 13 & 14 year olds play on a 10 goal and use 28.5 official size ball. We expect a big turn out this season. *
* The breakout between girls and boys divisions are contingent upon sign up numbers.
How much does is cost? The registration fee is $115 per player. Your money helps pay for referees, facilities, uniforms and trophies.
Where do we play? We play at the Wesley Chapel District Park outdoor courts.
How long is your season? We play 10 regular season games starting February 23rd and the Championship Games will conclude the week of May 19th, Monday through Thursday. Well take Spring Break weekends off. Well have 2 rounds of playoffs and a Championship Game for all age groups.
Where do we practice? Practices are held at Wesley Chapel District Park. Practices begin February 4th.
How often do we practice? Teams practice once a week for one hour. If court space is available teams may practice twice a week.
Can I play on the same team with a friend? Only brothers and sisters are guaranteed to be on the same team. No exceptions.
When are try outs? ALL PLAYERS, INCLUDING COACH'S KIDS MUST BE EVALUATED. EVERYONE MUST SHOW UP SOMETIME BETWEEN 9 AM - 2 PM ON JAN 12TH OR 13TH AT THE NEW WESLEY CHAPEL DISTRICT PARK OUTDOOR COURTS.
