Chandler Reeves tosses no-no

Congratulations to Chandler Reeves of Parkview Baptist out of Baton Rogue, who tossed a no hitter against Danville, IL @ Gross High School.  The Sr. right hander (to be)vtook a perfect game into the 5th, but was done in by a walk.  Whats even more impressive about Reeves no-no is that fact that his defense came to play, as he recorded only 1 punch out.

During the same game Jr. Garrett Deschamp was 1 -2 with a grand slam.

Updated Schedules

There are only 2 weeks remaining till opening pitch of the 8th Annual Battle of Omaha.  We have update all schedules and have placed the field locations under the handout icon.  To tip off our event, we will be hosting a Homerun Derby for the 17U group - June 10th at Orval Smith Field in Ralston.  Orval is located at 84th and Park Dr.  This event will begin at 7:30pm

Last chance to pre-order your tournament t-shirts is Sunday May 31st.  If you are a parent, please help the coaches gather this information.  T's are $12 and $14 for XXL and above

We look forward to you coming to Omaha and trust that you will have a great stay and will experience some exciting baseball as well.  Check back during the tournaments for scores and updates

Joe Martin takes homerun crown

Congratulations to Joe Martin from Zachary Baton Rogue, who won the 17U Homerun Derby at Orval Smith on Wednesday evening.

Martin who led off the event, showed his competitors they needed to bring their A game, as he swatted 7 homeruns in the opening round.  Martin was joined by JJ Benes (2)  of Ralston, Ben Raynor (1) of the Niwot Twins, Chris Akmon (1) and Brian Fuacher (1) of USA Select, Brandon Theil (1) of the National Eagles and Quarteroli (1) of Skutt in the Championship round.

Martin picked up 3 more dingers in the 2nd round to take the title. Benes netted 2 in the 2nd round for 2nd place.  As the 1st ever champ of the derby, Martin pickes up a pair of batting gloves, a new Nike mit, a plaque and a new blue CX2, which is 1 of only 60 made.  We will have pictures of the champ and runner up shortly.

Congratualtions to all the players and fans on a great start to the tournament.  A special thanks to Nike and Decker for their sponsorship of this event.

Indiana Saints win 17U tournament!!!!!!

Indiana Saints
17U Champs
Congratulations to the Indiana Saints, who defeated the Arkansas Rockets 5-4 in the Finals of the Battle of Omaha 17U Tournament at Omaha Northwest field.

We want to thank all the teams who participated in this years event.  Your patience was greatly appreciated as we ran into scheduling difficulties due to the rain storms.  At 35 teams, we nearly doubled last years event .  We have already begun planning next years tournaments as we look to increase to 40 teams.  We would welcome your input as we ponder moving to playing 4 games or 5, staying on a 4 day schedule so teams can go to the series and a homerun derby

A special thanks to the host sites as their countless hours of field work allowed us to stay on somewhat of a normal schedule - you all did a great job!!!!!!!
