The Bayonne Department of Recreation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Bayonne by providing high quality recreation and cultural programs, which meets the needs of all segments of our community.
CHAMPIONS! The Starting Point Diamonds are the 2009 Sr. Women's Softball Champions! They defeated On the Rocks, 1-0, to capture their 7th title in the past 8 years!

2ND PLACE! On the Rocks are the 2009 Runner Up in the Sr. Women's Softball League. On the Rocks lost 1-0 to the defending champions, Starting Point Diamonds.

HOT DOG EATING CONTEST!
SATURDAY, JULY 18TH
PETRIDIS' HOT DOGS!
11:30 a.m.
Sponsored by the City of Bayonne, the Bayonne Town Center, Petridis hot dogs and, ironically, Forum Fitness Club.
The prize for the three biggest eaters is a membership to the Forum Fitness Club, as well as a trophy. The first prize winner receives a year-long membership, the second-prize winner a six-month membership and the third place winner a three-month membership. Every contestant will receive a free T-shirt.
Prospective contestants can sign up at Petridis hot dogs until Monday, July 13. The competition is limited to 20 contestants. A new wrinkle this year is a raffle for an honorary judgeship. Anyone interested should also sign up at Petridis hot dogs.

DUCKTOURS! Pictured is the Kids' Travel Club at the NYC Ducktours! The travel club went on a tour of NYC on land then went into the Hudson River for a tour by water! A great day and a great trip!

The Adult Travel Club recently took a trip to the South Street Seaport. The members of the club got to go shopping and dining and enjoyed a sunny spring day out. The Bayonne Department of Recreation took a trip to Stevens Tech on Sunday, February 15th, on National Girls' & Women in Sports Day. Members of the Kids' Travel Club and the Ability Program were treated to a sports clinic in sports such as soccer, wrestling, field hockey, tennis, and volleyball. Each participant received a tee-shirt and pizza! After the clinic, everyone was given free admission into the Women's Basketball game against Utica. Pictured above is several members of the Kids' Travel Club with the Stevens Tech Women's Volleyball Team.
