Attention Wolverine Players & Parents- MARK YOUR CALENDERS:
Saturday, July 11th
9am-1pm
Final Team Registration Sign Up
If you have not signed up already, Sat. July 11th is the last day to do so before an additional $10 will be added to your registration fee. We've got several first year boys signed up- we need all you second year boys to get down to the field house and do so ASAP. The roster may get to a point where they ask us to stop getting sign ups and we don't want that. We want to give preference to all returning players -WE NEED EVERYONE BACK WHO PLAYED LAST YEAR TO HELP MAKE THIS A TRULY SPECIAL YEAR!
Saturday, July 11th
10am-11:30am
Trash For Cash (Team Fundraiser)
We're participating in the Boone Co. Waste Management "Trash For Cash" program this year. Basically each group is promised $100 per mile- w/ a max on 3 miles (ie: $300) & it involves walking and picking up trash @ 5' on both sides of the road. We're starting at 10am and the walk shouldn't take more than one to one & a half hours (so you can register w/ the team before or after the walk). We're walking Oakbrook Drive so we want to meet in the Skyline Chili parking lot (or the bank lot next door) there off of Limaburg Rd and start there. The cheerleaders are forming their own group but we'll try & walk @ the same time in the same neighborhood. Boone Co Waste Mgmt maps it out for us.
What we need are volunteers for that morning- coaches, players & parents. Please call me (513-615-9145) and I will get you a Waiver of Liability form to sign & send back to me. I need to have all this in their hands very soon to assure we get the date & neighborhood we want.
Thursday, July 23rd
6pm-8pm
Equipment Hand Outs Then Meet & Greet- Stehlin Field
From 6pm-7pm we will be having equipment hand outs at the Napier Building @ the field.
From 7pm-8pm we will have a Meet & Greet for all players, cheerleaders, parents & coaches. We'll probably have hot dogs chips & soda for everyone.
We will have our football equipment handouts and a Meet & Greet on Thursday, July 23rd (the Thursday before our 1st practice).
From 6:00pm-7:00pm we will have equipment handouts.
From 7:00pm-8:00pm we will have an informal Meet & Greet.
We'll probably have hot dogs, chips & soda as well.
Please bring your $25.00 team fee to hand in as well. The sooner we get this the sooner we can progress to bigger & better things during the season. We can not let the team fee linger throughout the year!
Saturday July 25th
6pm-9pm
Muggbees Dinner Buffett (Team Fundraiser)- adults only
As another opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the team we are partnering with Muggbees Restaurant & Bar (located at 8405 US Highway 42 in Florence in between Mall Rd & Hopeful Church). What we are offering is an all you can eat & drink (open bar) dinner for $20 per person. $10 goes to Mugbees, the other $10 goes to the Wolverines. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000+ so we need to sell at least (100)+ tickets. We encourage all parents & coaches to begin getting involved now by putting the word out to friends & family. I think you will agree $40 a couple for three hours of all you can eat & drink is a good deal. We do need you to try & collect the $20 up front from each person and ask them to keep the ticket stub as a receipt. Then they can show that stub at the door and be given a wristband which identifies them as having paid. Amanda Farrell will mail out a sheet of tickets to each family. Please do your best to try & sell at least three tickets per family.
Mon July 27th
1st Day of practice- 6pm-8pm
(meaning- get out from in front of the X-Box and expose your body to the sun for at least one week prior!)
Saturday, August 1st
12pm-6pm
BCPWFL 40th Anniversary Carnival- Stehlin Field
The league will be holding a carnival up at the field from 12pm-6pm. This will be a lot like a typical church festival in terms of te htypes of booths & games it offers. In keeping w/ a low budget theme, the costs to players & parents will be very minimal- either $1 per person or $5 per carload- they're working that out. Dunk Tank, bounce houses, face painting and much more will all be there. The Wolverines have volunteered to man as many as three booths. Face painting, hair salon & tattoo parlor. All the supplies for these booths will be supplied by the league. We are, however looking for a few things:
1) Your time- we will likely need two volunteers per booth. We will break you out in (3) two hour time slots per booth.
2) 10x10 canopy tents and tables- anyone willing to supply these, please give me a call. I'm supplying some myself.
