Chiefs are going to the playoffs !!!
July 24, 2008 The Chiefs are going in the playoffs taking the #3 seed in the NL on the backs of (2007 ROY) Kevin Faulkner and (2007 Cy Young and MVP) Brian Zurhellen with a good mix of rookies Evan Denton, Dane Phillips, Me’Shaw Taylor, and leadoff hitter Zach Pittman it’s been a great year. K. Faulkner set a single season record for homeruns with 10 and is also leading the league in RBI with 30. B. Zurhellen is leading the league in hitting with a .521 average and is leading the league in the all important category of hit-by pitch with 11.
The Chiefs have 6 players with a .400 average or better with Steve Pritchard leading the way with .536 (not enough at bat to qualify for the batting title) then you have B. Zurhellen with his .521, followed by Z. Pittman with .460 then you have D. Phillips with .431 and K. Faulkner with .426 and M. Taylor with .410. The Chiefs also hit the long ball with 5 players hitting 3 or more. K. Faulkner tops the list with 10, B. Zurhellen with 5 and D. Phillips, Sam Asis, and Wyatt Tucker with 3. Over all the Chiefs is third in the league in hitting with a .364 average.
On the mound is the same story with the Chiefs as they lead the league in earned run average with a 1.97 ERA. Leading the way is Rookie Even Denton with a 1.06 ERA and with only 33 innings pitched he had 52 strikeouts. Also Rookie Alex Cost is second in the league in ERA with a 1.08 ERA. E. Denton and B. Zerhellen lead the Chiefs in wins with 4 apiece and Alex Cost has 3. Also compiling a 2-0 record is first year player Joey Cress.

New NABA Home Run King! Kevin Faulkner Hits Two More, Take HR Title
July 17, 2008 Kevin Faulkner has a pretty full trophy case as it is, including a Rookie of the Year, an All-Star Game MVP and tournament MVP, but he added a pretty significant piece of hardware Monday by hitting his 9th and 10th home runs of the season and breaking the single season NABA record.
What's even more impressive is that he's done it in a drastically reduced number of games, with the regular season being paired down to 21 games this year. With only 66 at-bats so far, Kevin has hit a home run every 6.6 at-bats. Almost half of his 23 hits have landed over a fence, and he leads the league with a ridiculous 1.056 slugging percentage. This league has seen some impressive offensive performances in the past, and Kevin's certainly ranks right up there with all of them. Congratulations to Kevin on his accomplishment!
