Ward Added to 2009 Coaching Staff
The Cannons Baseball Organization welcomes former Cannons ace Nathan Ward to the 2009 coaching staff.
Nathan Ward played four years varsity baseball and football at Milton High School. Was named All-Metro all four seasons for the Yellowjackets before graduating in 2006. In his junior year with Milton, Ward helped lead his team to the Vermont Division II Final. Ward was named baseball MVP after his junior and senior year campaigns for both baseball and football. Played two years with the Cannons in 2005 and 2006.
Ward is currently a junior attending The College of Saint Rose where he is working towards a degree in Marketing and playing for the Golden Knights. Saint Rose is a member of the Division II Northeast 10 conference along with former Cannons teammates Sean Burns (UMass Lowell) and A.J. Dusablon (Southern New Hampshire University).

Merchant to Staff New Role For Summer of '09
The Cannons Baseball organization is pleased to welcome back Jamie Merchant to the 2009 staff. Merchant returns for his 2nd summer.
The 2008 Junior Cannons Head Coach will step into a new role this summer as Roving Pitching Coordinator and Player Development Coordinator. Merchant will step out of the day to day team management and embrace the role of developing pitcher's mechanics, monitoring arm health and tracking progress for both the Senior and Junior Cannons. Merchant will also be in charge of both pitching coaches and will run pitcher drills and workouts in practices and pregame. This is a new coaching role in our organization developed to allow Jamie to see more players more often.
Cross Commits To Plattsburgh State, Will Join Cauchon
Burlington High School senior Brandon Cross has committed to attend Plattsbrugh State. Cross will join the Cardinals and current Cannons teammate Kris Cauchon. Cross is expected to make an immediate impact on the Cardinals catching situation. Cross, coming off a legion season that ended early due to an injury he incurred during a home plate collision, was leading the Cannons in hitting went he went on the disabled list in July 2008. Cross will return for his final year as a Cannons in 2009.
Peety Commits To Plattsburgh State, Joins Cross and Cauchon
2008 Cannons Gold Glove Award Winner Jeremy Peet has committed to Plattsburgh State College. Peet will be entering the class of 2013 as an undecided major. Peet, who split duties between catching and 3rd base in 2008 with future Plattsburgh State and current Cannons teammate Brandon Cross, has two years of Cannons eligibility remaining.
Former Cannons Pitcher Nate Ward Looks To Lead St. Rose in 2009
Former Colchester Cannon Pitcher / Outfielder Nate Ward is now in his Junior year at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. His major is Business Administration.
Nate was recruited by St. Rose as a pitcher for the Golden Knights baseball team. The Golden Knights play in the N.E. 10, Division II (wood bat) collegiate league.
Over the past two years, Ward has been the “Closer” for the Golden Knights baseball team coming in usually in the final two innings to end the game. However, this year the right-hander is expected to be in the starting rotation.
The Golden Knights return to the diamond this weekend (Feb 6th) with their season’s opener against Newberry College in South Carolina.

Dusablon Prepares For NYCBL
Former Cannons Cy Young Award winner AJ Dusablon will get his first taste of the NYCBL as he heads to Allegany County to play for the Nitros. Dusablon finished his freshman campaign at Southern NH University and is off to tighten up his game and have some fun in a new area. Dusablon will be staying with a host family while playing for the Nitros.
Making the Dean's List in his first semester, AJ Dusablon heads in to his 2nd semester at SNHU. AJ is majoring in Sports Management. Along with Baseball AJ's flag football team, Team Diesel, won the league with AJ at QB. His baseball team also worked at Patriot games and Loudon races for fundraisers in the off season. All this has been in addition to his 6 days a week baseball workouts.
Cannons To Run Little League Game Day Clinic July 7th

The Cannons will run a 1 hour Little League Game Day Clinic on July 7th at Centennial Field. All participants will get a Cannons tee shirt and free admission the 7:05pm game vs. Franklin County @ Centennial.
