Cougars Dominate Vernon Hills Tournament!!
VERNON HILLS, IL - After begging Bloomingdale to score the one run needed vs. Libertyville to put the Cougars in the finals, the boys in blue took advantage by shutting out the host club.
Kenny Trezek pitched as dominate of a game as this reporter has ever seen. Kenny's line: 4 innings pitched, no hits, no runs, no walks, 10K's out of 12 batters faced. The most telling sign witnessed was looking over at the Vernon Hills dugout, with ONE out in the third inning, and the entire team was on the fence WITH THEIR MITS IN HAND!!! They knew they would be taking the field in two batters! Making matters worse for VH is after Kenny, they ended up facing Matt Frawley. Things didn’t get any better: 3 innings pitched, 2 hits, no runs, no walks, 6K’s out of 11 batters faced. UNBELIEVABLE!!
The Cougars reached the finals by winning their pool after victories over Bloomingdale (15-0), Niles (5-1), and Grayslake (8-3).
Way to go Cougars....let's go "back to back" in Michigan!
