Puzzle closer to being solved
March 27, 2008 - 12:00 AM
The effort to get the right 15 teams was tremendous by the committee.
Many of the top teams from out of state that were invited were unwilling
to spend the travel budget to come to Orlando in the Spring when most are coming this summer. It is a shame they all backed out or never committed.
Some teams like East Cobb Astros elected to go to an easier event in Jacksonville, FL. Others even in the State likewise made the choice to play in another lesser stature event. Hats off to the really serious managers and parents that made the sacrifices to participate in the premier
event of the Spring known as the Fabled 15.
Check back SATURDAY PM to see which teams are paired in what brackets. The final field of teams is listed above in color including: Central Florida Diamondbacks , Bullets Gold out of Brandon , Manasota Meteors , West Boynton Tornadoes, Panthers Baseball out of Coral Springs, Florida Fire,
Frozen Ropes of Tampa, Tampa Thunder, Team Combat from Cocoa , Hammertime from Jupiter, St. Pete Hurricanes, and the Weston Rattlers.
The format is exciting and causes every game to be important in the outcome. Each team will play two pre-liminary games plus a cross pool additional game to determine seeding. The top 6 teams will advance to
Championship play and the bottom six will fight for a consolation title.
Every team will play a minimum of 4 games. GAME STAR awards will be given in every contest.
