CINDERELLA STORY OF THE SEASON!
CONGRATULATIONS 11-12 ROUGHRIDERS!
Proof to what a team can achieve if they are dedicated, work really hard and never give up! The Little League Majors 11-12 Roughriders ended their 2008 Spring Season 1-12 and in last place! However, in 2009, the Roughriders ended their season 12-2 and in FIRST Place of the LLM 11-12 National League! An incredible turn-around! Great Job to Head Coach James Monk and his asssistants for this incredible season... putting together a fine group of players that represent the values of both Forney Baseball and Little League Baseball!

Thank You Coaches and Parents!
For the first time in many many years, there were NO Ejections or Suspensions all season! Thank you Coaches, Parents and Fans for your "cool heads" and "restraint" and allowing the game's focus be on the kids!

WHAT EXACTLY IS A TITAN?
Great job and spectacular season to the Little League Majors 11-12 (American League) Forney Titans! The team went 13-1, took First Place in their Division and had the Best Overall Record in their League! Fantastic Job to Head Coach Stan Anderson and his Assistants for a spectacular season!
However, when asked... not one of their players or coaches can tell you what a "Titan" really is? Though Regina and the rest of their fans will argue with you... none of them can explain a Titan as well!!!!!

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!
Make sure that your child has a filled water bottle with him at all games and Practices! Coaches will be reminding them to keep hydrated during this time.

CALLING ALL 15-18 YEAR-OLD PLAYERS!
It has always been the thought, in Forney, that there would be little interest in Recreation Baseball for kids of 15, 16 and 17 years of age … that the only kids playing ball at that age are doing so for the High School team… that if you’re not playing ball on the High School team, you should consider another sport or hobby. Well, not everyone can play High School baseball… for many reasons… not all high school aged players go to a Forney High School… there are many that go to Private Schools… there are many that are Home Schooled… there are some that don’t attend school… or come from families who are financially strapped and have to work a part-time job. Then, there are those kids who are interested and love baseball who did not make the Forney High School team or any other High School Team within the FYBA Little League Boundaries. These players were forced to go play in Mesquite or another town to play baseball… or not play baseball at all. This is a shame and shouldn’t be the case! Did you know that there are players currently in the Major Leagues that have never played High School Baseball?

This Spring Season, FYBA had a record number of players sign up in the 13-14 year-old age group (Junior League)… enough to form 6 teams! This is an encouraging sign! We have also had calls and emails asking if we had teams for older-aged children… regretfully, we had to say “NO”!

Beginning this Fall 2009 and carrying over to the Spring 2010 Season, FYBA would like to open up two Little League Affiliated Age Groups… SENIOR LEAGUE (15 & 16 Yr Olds) and BIG LEAGUE (17 & 18 Yr Olds). However, this is all up to you! If there is interest, we will do so. If there is no interest, we will not. Please register your vote to the On-Line Poll located in the upper right-hand corner… your vote will count for more than you think. Thank you.

CREATE A TEAM WEBSITE!
A great way to communicate with your parents and players is thru a website... save yourself countless number of phone calls... now no one can say "I didn't get the message!"

Creating a website is easy thru League Lineup or Eteamz. You don't have to be a computer geek to do so... it is very user-friendly! Many teams in the league have already done so... check out these other team websites in the LINKS section. Also, the best thing is that it is FREE to do so... no cost... zilch... goose-egg... notta... you get the picture.

Once you get your website up, send us an email and let us know and we'll add your site to the LINKS section. There will be a vote at the end of the season for the Best Team Website!

FYBA FUND RAISER CARDS!
FYBA Fund Raiser Flyer If you missed the Fundraiser drop off on Thursday, March 26th, please contact Jennifer Wingfield, FYBA Director of Public Relations by email or phone 214-802-6405.

"The one constant through all the years, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game – it’s a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again.”
