SOCCER REGISTRATION
*Fall 2009 registrations are taking place during the month of July. Please pass the word along that we are taking registrations in July only. We don't want to miss anyone!

SUMMER SOCCER CAMPS
This summer, our department is pleased to welcome back United Soccer Academy and their summer camps. All registrations are handled through their website: www.unitedsocceracademy.com.
World Cup Camp Has Been Rescheduled for July 13th-17th 9am-12pm

A World of Fun at Your Feet! This soccer day camp pushes the fun factor for children aged 5 to 12 while improving skills.
Campers will arrive to a vibrant camp atmosphere with friendly professional coaches that will assign each player into a designated World Cup country for the week. Each day, players will learn soccer skills from around the world and put them to the test in fun challenges and games. Countries will face off against each other in daily soccer scrimmages where the emphasis is on the excitement of playing soccer.
This camp is ideal for children that play at the recreational level or travel players that are looking for some soccer fun. and instruction at the same time. Our professional staff will not only coach the fundamentals of soccer but will teach campers the valuable lesson of teamwork.
Specialist camps July 13th-17th
FootworX Camps ((Ages:: 7 -- 14)) 9am -10.30am

FootworX camps give each player the opportunity to work alone with a ball and
develop the vital skills that lead to ball mastery. Repetition of fun activities is the key
here. Players will develop techniques of juggling, tricks and ball manipulation with both
feet. Add to these techniques a range of specific turns and moves appropriate to
player age and ability, and it is easy to see how this camp will impact player
performance on the field.

NetBurstiing Camps ((Ages:: 7 -- 14)) 9am-10.30am
$99
Players will work on all aspects of their shooting game, from power shots to finishing
with style. USA coaches will teach various shooting techniques before putting players
into scrimmage type games designed to promote goal scoring. The camp will also
feature goal keeper instruction, where coaching will be given on all aspects of this
specialist position. So, whether you are an outfield player looking to improve your
shooting skills or a goalkeeper looking to make game winning saves, this is the right
camp for you!

Total Play Camps ((Ages:: 7 -- 14))10.30am-12pm

Just come and play the beautiful game! A camp that just lets you play… a player’s
dream! The philosophy behind our Total Play camp is to let the game do the teaching.
Players will engage in small and full sided scrimmages with our professional trainers
coaching within the game. This is a great opportunity to follow up a net-bursting, SAQ
or FootworX camp, allowing players the chance to exhibit skills learned in the previous
camp in game situations under the guidance of our experienced trainers.

High School Camps
USA have devised an intensive program of ball work and conditioning with proven results for players at the High School level. These camps are scheduled conveniently prior to the fall season to give you a running start on the competition!
Players at the top level realize that a team's success is dependant on its individuals' efforts. This Camp will prepare individuals for the demands of the High School season.
Register as an individual, or as a team. If a team registers together with a minimum of 10 players, a USA trainer will be assigned to work with the team and a custom-designed curriculum will be planned, with the help of the head coach, prior to the camp.

Registration money is paid out in cash prizes to the winners. Specific rules will be in place to keep everyone consistent.
INSTRUCTIONAL TENNIS
Classes are held Monday & Wednesday nights. The classes are designed to have participants learn a sport that can be played for a lifetime. Instruction will take place at Lake Forest High School tennis courts.
The participants for the 8-9-10 year olds will have rackets provided, but you may bring your own.
The participants for the 11-12-13 year olds and the adults are encouraged to bring your own racket.
Registration forms can be picked up at our office. The cost of each session is $50.00. These sessions are on a first come first serve basis; registration will be open until sessions are filled.
HARRINGTON HERITAGE DAY 1ST ANNUAL TOY & TRAIN SHOW
Harrington Parks & Recreation is sponsoring its first toy & train show during Harrington Heritage Day. The event will take place at the Recreation Center on Saturday, August 29th from 9am-4pm.
Trains, Farm Toys, and a variety of collectibles will be available on display and to purchase.
Tickets: Ages 13 and up ~ $2.00
Children 12 and under are free with a paying attendee

Harrington Heritage Day Contests.....
All contests will take place on Harrington Heritage Day, August 29, 2009, on the main stage located next to the police station on Mechanic Street. The deadline for each contest is July 1, 2009.
**Harrington Idol Contest**
Who ~ Singers, Musicians, & Bands
Registration Fee ~ $10.00/entry
Divisions ~ 12-18 years old & 19 years old and up
The winner from each age division will receive a trophy and will get to perform at the Harrington Christmas Parade Main Stage and will be invited to perform the National Anthem at Harrington Parks & Recreation Sporting Events throughout the year.
**A Moment In Time Costume Contest**
Who ~ Children up to 11 years old
Registration Fee ~ $5.00
Divisions ~ Children up to 5 years old Best Costume Little Boy & Best Costume Little Girl; Children 6-11 years old Best Costume Junior Boy and Best Costume Jr. Miss Girl
The winner from each division will receive a trophy.
**Pet Contest**
Who ~ You and your wonderful pet
Registration Fee ~ $3.00
Categories ~ Best Mirror Image-Did you start to look like your pet or did your pet start to look like you? Either way, if you think you are two of a kind, this is the category for you!
Most Terrific Pet Trick-Whether your #1 pet has fur, feathers, fins, or maybe scales, if they can do a trick, we want to see it!
Most Adorable-Is your pet cute and cuddly and makes people want to take them home? Come and dazzle the judges in this category!

WATER AEROBICS
Water aerobic classes are available to adults. Registrations are now being taken for the September class. The cost is $65 and you can register at the Harrington Parks & Recreation office at 114 East Liberty St. in Harrington. If you have any questions, please call the office at 398-7975.
ADULT FITNESS
The Harrington Parks & Recreation Center will be open for any adult wishing to get out of the elements and walk. Treadmills, universal weights, and an exercise bike are available for use also. Adults will be able to use the center Monday through Friday while we are open. If you have any questions, just call the office at 398-7975. See you inside!!!
