4th of July Blast - PLAYOFF INFORMATION - FOR SUNDAY JULY 5TH July 4, 2009
13U Division
Longwood Lions, LI Sharks, and LI Bandits have clinched a playoff berth and need to report to the Moriches Complex for 1:30 pm playoff games starts. Seeds will be determined after pool play concludes in the AM. If Elite wins their 9:00 AM game they clinch the final berth. If Elite loses the LI Cardinals clinch the final berth.
15U Division
CT. Blue Jays (#1 seed) and Levittown Cardinals (#2 seed) have clinched playoff berths. If the Smithtown Bulls win their final pool play game they clinch a playoff berth. The final playoff berth will be decided after pool play concludes. Ronkonkoma Cardinals, Whitestone Royals and Hauppauge Eagles all have a chance to qualify and need to be prepared to play at 11:15 AM at the Moriches Complex.
16U Division
PAL Blue Knights are #1 seed and will play the winner of the 9:00 AM #2 Black Hawks and #3 LI Extreme game at the at the Moriches Complex . The Championship game will be played at 11:45 AM at the Moriches Complex .
17U/18U Division
Paveco Black 17U (#1 seed) and Paveco Black 18U (#2 seed) have clinched playoff berths. The final two playoff berths will be decided when pool play concludes Sunday AM.

LONG ISLAND ASTROS WIN BLUE CHIP PROSPECTS "GREAT AMERICAN CLASSIC" July 2, 2009 - 10:00 AM
Once again the Long Island Astros went out and beat everything the competition had to offer. The Astros 18U Boys of Summer team captured the prestigious Blue Chip Prospects "Great American Classic" at Baseball Heaven last week. The Astros beat Connecticut Blue Jays 18U, 2-1, in the title game played at Farmingdale State University. It was the teams third win of the day and they finished the tournament with a 6-1 record. The Astros eliminated the LI Titans Blue 18U, 2-0, in the quarterfinal round defeated the New Jersey Knights, 5-0, in the semifinal round. It is the fifth straight tournament title this year for the Astros. They also won the very competitive tournament in Aberdeen, MD. at the Ripken Complex beating some of the best teams MD & PA had to offer. Congratulations to manager Jeff Rusoff and his team.
