2008-2009 National All-American Scholar Athletes
National Pop Warner has announced the recipients of the 2008-2009 All-American Scholar Athletes awards. There are 3 Levels awarded:
1st Team All-American Scholar - This is the highest level and very difficult to achieve. Out of the 8,100 applications submitted, only a very small percent achieve 1st team status. A First Team All-American is one of the top 35 football players or top 25 cheerleaders for his/her grade nationwide!
2nd Team All-American Scholar - A Second Team All-American consists of those scholars who are above an annually increasing final score (GPA + addendum).
Honorable Mention - Players and Cheerleaders that meet the 96% GPA.
Mt. Baldy would first like to congratulate Chad Ponciano from Rancho Cucamonga who was our only 1st Team All-American Athlete for the 2nd year in a row.
We congratulate all our Scholar Athletes for their dedication to both academics and sport.
As a result of being selected as a Pop Warner All-American Scholar, you are all also invited to attend the 49th Annual Scholar All-American Scholar Awards Banquet, taking place on Friday, May 22 & Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Coronado Springs Resort at DisneyWorld in Lake Buena Vista, Fl.
