SUMMER 2009 TRYOUTS!!!!
Dear Parents and Players,
Welcome to the 2009 season of tryouts, this is when things get crazy here in the soccer world. This season is a little different than the past because LIJSL has allowed tryouts to start today May 26, 2009. Here at HBC/NETSA we would like to use this to our advantage and try a different approach for players. Tryouts have always been a sensitive procedure because most of the time you only get 1 or 2 chances to see a child perform on the field. It is very hard to get a true reading of a player because of so many different things can effect a player. For instance a player has just recovered from being sick, a player was extremely nervous, it was a really hot day and even a great player can have a bad day. We would like to see your child over a course of 4 tryouts, this way a player can get an idea of the team, feel a little more comfortable, not be as nervous and we can make a better assessment.
What we are looking for – NETSA is proud to train 6 current travel teams, 5 out of 6 are division 1 teams. We pride ourselves on player development which transpires into great team play. There are only 2 things we look for from a player;
- How much they love the game?
- How committed they are?
Teaching a player skills and techniques is easy if a player is willing to work hard and be committed, this is also needed from the parent as well. We say this because we train very hard and play all year round. Tournaments, summer league, winter league and training 3 times a week plus our league games and we are just warming up. NETSA does not care what division your child is in, what experience they have. All we want are players that love this game and we will do the rest. Please do not cut your child short of a great opportunity; if your child loves this game then you must bring them down to our tryouts. Your child may have that certain something we need on our team and you might not even know it.
What to expect at our tryout – All of our HBC travel team tryouts are run by NETSA, your child will be challenged on these 5 important areas;
- Strength and conditioning
- Speed and agility
- Individual ball skills and techniques
- Team Tactics
- Game situation play
Please don’t assume what your child has or doesn’t have, this is what we do and let us evaluate your child. Below you will see a list of teams, there ages and times. There will also be a contact listed next to your age group, please contact them for field locations or if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Good luck during tryout madness!!!
