Spring 2009 Padres finish strong with a respectable 9-7 record.
Offensive player of Spring 2009 Joe Johnson played all 16 games, lead the team on average with .552, 58 AB's, 27 runs, 21 RBI's, 6 HBP, 47 total bases, and slugged a whopping .810.
Defense player of the Spring 2009 Loren Shoop finished with a 6.39 ERA from 50.2 innings pitched. Shoop had 672 strikes and 292 balls. Shoop came to this team relatively late but helped out tremendously. His curve consistantly kept batters off balance ad I knew we could always get 6 or 7 innings out of Shoop. Great job this sesason and hope to see you next season.
Welcome to the official site of Saturday 18 AA Padres. We are an amateur baseball team playing in the San Diego Adult Baseball League. Our team was originally formed in the spring of 2005, playing in the Sunday 18 A division. With a couple of struggling seasons we decided to re structure our team and move over to the Saturday 18 A division for the fall 2006 season. That season we got off to a slow start and finished the season 3-6. Durring the off season we upgraded a few positions and picked up some heavy hitters for the 2007 spring season. Yet again we got off to a rough start at 0-2 but with a strong run we finished the season with a 10-7 record, making it to the playoffs as the 8th seed and going all the way to the semi-finals. In the fall 2007 season we had a 6-3 record making it to the playoffs for the second season in a row but lost in the quarterfinals. Our powerful offense has continued in AA. Finishing the Spring 2008 season 9-7 in 7th place and going to the playoffs for the third consecutive season but again losing in the quarterfinals. The Fall 2008 season we finished 5-5 going to the playoffs for the 4th consecutive season but again losing in the quarterfinals.
