sometimes it's what you say.....not how you say it

"The only difference between this and Custer's last stand was Custer didn't have to look at the tape afterwards".

- Terry Crisp, the ex-coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning. This quote was after a 10-0 loss to the Calgary Flames.

"We
can't play stupid hockey, dumb hockey, greedy hockey, selfish hockey.
We have to put the team ahead of our personal feelings
".

- Terry Crisp, the ex-coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

"That's so when I forget how to spell my name, I can still find my clothes."

- Stu Grimson, Chicago Blackhawks left wing, explaining why he keeps a color photo of himself above his locker

You've seen the games.....now see the book

For something to remember the season by, I've put together a team photo / year book. Totaling 40 pages, the book has a two page section for each player - one of the pages is a full page action shot and the second is a 4 to 5 shot montage page.

Click here for a preview of the book. The preview is limited to 15 pages - running in numerical order up to #7 J.T. Burris. In addition the preview also shows the opening plus the front and back cover pages.

Prices for the book vary depending on the type of cover and paper quality you choose. Please allow up to 7-10 days for delivery - 5 to 6 days for printing and the remainder based on the type of shipping you select. Click here for ordering information.

For those who are interested, I now have a copy. It took about 6 days round trip. I will try to remember to bring it along to Bellingham and the home games this coming weekend. Please email me if you have any additional questions.

Opening Face Off

Welcome to the web site for our 2008-2009 Midget AA TBirds. We'll use the site for various items, including schedules, announcements, photos etc.....if you have any items that you would like to see added, please email to Bud Albers and I will put it up.

One of the first orders of business is to make sure all of the appropriate SnoKing and USA Hockey forms are taken care of. Here is a link to the forms on the SnoKing site. Please fill in the appropriate forms and return them to Connie Bulger as soon as possible.

If you are interested in the results of the PNAHA Tiering Tournament, you can find the schedules and scores on the PNAHA Tiering Site.

In addition, the following page holds a wealth of information about the League Rules, Rule Changes, Tiering Process, etc...plus links to online downloadable copies of the USA Hockey Rule Book for 2007-09 and the PNAHA League Specific Rules.

League Schedule

As of right now, it looks like the PNAHA schedules are being targeted for distribution around October 13. We are working with some of the other Associations to try to get some interim games setup. More to come on that front....

Just a quick note - off ice dry land and chalk talk times have been added to the Complete Schedule (Monthly View) section of the calendar.

Good Reason to Keep Your Head Up

Some loose change.......(a humorous look at Hockey)

Who’s the new guy?

by Charlie Teljeur (syndicated columnist and creator of the Instigator cartoon series which ran on CBC HNIC)

Wow, amazing the amount of things that can happen when you spend your entire summer inebriated doing stuff.

Looking through the current NHL rosters I’m blown away by the amount of changes that have (evidently) happened over the course of these past three months (it’s hazy) or so. It’s kind of like when a girl moves into your place and she starts moving your cereal around. At first it’s simply upsetting – you like knowing where everything is – but, after a while, you begin to like the idea of having the Cocoa Puffs lined up alphabetically next to Count Chocula (brilliant, really).

So, to pay homage to Lucinda (I already miss her) and her breakfast-box-moving ways, let’s run through these player movements (fiber, fiber, fiber) that have struck me in one way or another. These ratings are strictly personal and, in no way, reflect the feelings of The Hockey News, my mother and that nasty little Pomeranian that growls every time I attempt to steal her food.

Where was I? Oh yeah, about those ratings…

Kudos to the New York Islanders who now have a Doug Weight, a lightweight (Mike Comrie) and some dead weight (Mike Sillinger).

Exceptional work by the Vancouver Canucks in signing Jason Krog who is, by far, my favourite Muppet.....MORE

Goal Celebrations - Doing it Right SI Style

Hockey: A People's History

CBC is running a great series from a new book on the history of the game.
