Blue Bananas make it to the Final Four
The Blue Bananas (10U) made it the farthest in the playoffs of all the Severna Park Teams. They won their first game Tuesday night in a thrilling fashion by one run against Crofton Back-in-Black to be one of the 4 remaining teams in the double elimination tournament! They battled back in the second game of the night against the Rivera Beach Mustangs and ended up losing by only one run with the bases loaded when the final out was made.
The Spirit receives trophies for finishing 5th out of 21 teams
The Spirit (14U) was the only other Severna Park team to make it to the trophy round and was tied for 5th place in the 14U age bracket when their season came to a close against the #1 seed Harundale Cardinals who defeated them by only 1 run in a 8-7 ball game.

The Blasters pulled off a first round upset against the Lake Shore Purple Piranhas but were finally subdued by our own Lady Royals.
The Green Machine upset the Brooklyn Park Cyclones in the first round of the playoffs before finally being tamed by the Crofton Lady Cardinals.

The Red Raiders made it through 4 rounds of playoffs before falling to the Havenwood Twisters!
The Frogs only lost by one run in their final game against the Elvaton Hurricanes.
Softball Survey
With the end of the season approaching, your help is needed! To continue to strengthen the GSPAA softball program, your input is desired. In the coming weeks, you will receive an email requesting feedback for the 2009 softball season. Please take the time to share overall comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism in order to better serve and prepare future seasons for our girls, our coaches, and the overall program.
Pre-Season Softball Camp
The Green Hornets would like to thank the Severna Park High School Softball Team and coach Meredith McAllister for working with the softball players during the pre-season softball camp and making the camp a fun experience for the girls. The pitcher and catcher special sessions also helped to improve the skills for the girls playing these positions. The camp generated almost $600 for the Green Hornets softball program and over $3300 for the high school softball program.
Go Falcons and Green Hornets in the 2009 season!
