After losing to the Bombers White at 3:20pm, we rebounded to go back to back games till 11:19pm and come away with the championship! Outstanding pitching from Carla Noel and Alex Galvan-the girls caught a break when Nadine Idrogo relieved them for a game vs. the Bombers White, on a strict rotation, every pitcher handled each game with poise and determination. We made several bone head mistakes in the loss to the Bombers White, 9 errors to be exact. We had several in the park homers, leading the way was Jay with 4 INP. Daisy Martinez ripped one that went about 215' in the 275' park and went all the way to the LC field fence. Defense was sound from the 4th game on, 4 double plays were turned by the middle infield which consisted of "Jay" and "Flea". Web gem play by Maggie throwing out a girl from center field at 1st base! Way to not let up! I think our gelling will be improving and we should be ready for the summer Championship tourneys. Outstanding job by base coaches Ram Galvan and Royce Hudgeons!

Sparkling City Spring Bash 2009!
April 4, 2009
Elite 14U Blue was comprised of most of the starters on the ELITE(ALICE)14U team. We had to run with 2 teams over the weekend because of District Track. We had to go to our pool of players and pick up some of our part-timers like Daisy Martinez(5yrs ELITE), Mandy Flores(7yrs),
Sirena Martinez(3yrs) along with new additions to the 2009 Squad, Alicia "Ali" Strong(Permanant), Danielle Gonzalez(Permanant). It would be a good Saturday as we would give up only one run Saturday to our 32 runs. Bats were awake and we played solid "D". Going into Sunday we would battle with our teammates that made up the ELITE(White) team. This team had players like Lexi"Flea", Taylor Lawson, Shayna Palacios, Sydney Ramirez, Gabbi Villarreal, and pitcher & new addition to the team for 2009 Marissa Snyder along with STE 96 player Sarah Rodriguez and Diamond Force players Valerie Holeman & Saren Sutton would complete this 2nd team.
They would square off at 11:30am after the white team would beat the Lady Islanders 9-0 at 9am. This would turn out to be a battle for the ages, after several innings of hard hitting and a few costly errors by the Blue team, the final would be White 6- Blue 4. The white would then take care of the Texas Lightning(6-3) to go into the ship. The Blue would have to play back to back games to get bk to the ship. Being hott and the girls smashing everything that was thrown at them, the Blue would run away with an 8-2 CHAMPIONSHIP over the ELITE White! Those were the best 2 games of the tourney! I am proud of you girls and the coaches for the direction that was given during the games. I can't wait till we field the new squad for 2009 as a whole on the 25th of this month, should be scary for anyone that faces off with this team. I am not one to talk, but this years' squad is one of the best squads I've had.
We would like to Welcome:
Alicia "Ali" Strong #33 and the Strong Family
Danielle Gonalez #44 and the Gonzalez Family
Carla Noel #27 and the Noel Family
Marissa Snyder #11 and the Snyder Family
Lisette "Lizzy" Esparza #4 and the Esparza Family
With that, we have completed our 2009 ELITE(ALICE)14U roster, so people and coaches can quit calling us a bunch of pick ups. Watch our for this team as they will be a force to be reckoned with this year as we make a run at ASA 14U STATE(KILLEEN,TX)& MARIETTA, GEORGIA(USA/ASA 14U NATIONALS).

2009 Bomber Shootout ! !
March 21, 2009
ELITE(ALICE)14U was in full force this past weekend in Seguin, Texas @ the Bomber Shootout. Girls, we are proud of you as you fought hard all weekend. The bats were a bit sluggish but we will work hard to get prepared for the next tourney. Thanks to Bella Rosas and Nadine Idrogo for picking up with us and helping out. As to all the other ELITE players, you were awesome as we won and lost as a team proudly. Thats what makes us special and different than other teams out there. We know how to win and we know how to act when we lose. We are not out there acting as if we won the dang World Series each time we win. We started off pool play real sluggish with the bats, never getting anything started. Bats were asleep, we did not help Alex with any runs as she pitched a heck of a game. We lost to the 95 Texas Elite 2-0. Next came the RR Blaze (Paul), Carla started off the game on the mound and held the Blaze to 2 scoreless innings as Bella came in relief in the 3rd. Our speed would prove to much for the Blaze as we would come away with a 7-1 victory. Next in line was the Texas Jets 94, we would shut them out 3-0. Next up was the Austin Storm, we had to win this game to be the #1 seed coming out of our pool. We had beat the Storm at the Ronnie Mac and it seemed like the Storm had it fresh in their minds. After loading the bases on walks and a double and single, we would fall behind 4-0 in the 1st inning. It would stay like that for for 3 1/2 innings till we finally rallied in the 5th to go ahead 5-4 and get the victory. That would seed us #1 and put us against the Freeze Blue at 9:30am Sunday, we would win 4-1. Next up, the scrappy Tornadoes Blue, after several scoreless innings, we would put up 3 points and hold on for the 3-0 victory. That would put us in the round of 8 and pit us against the Crazy 8's. This team was compromised of hand picked, cream of the crop talent from 4 different Dallas teams, real tuff bunch and eventual CHAMPS. We started off real shaky and gave up 2 runs( 1 earned and 1 unearned run) and the score would stay 2-0 to finally eliminate us from the Shootout. Great job girls from the coaching staff! ! ! Good job ladies and we are proud of you all. Our 1st tourney as ELITE will be in Allen, Texas on March 13-14 followed by the Bomber Shootout 21-22.

Cuero High School Pre-Season Bash
January 11, 2009
The ELITE was in full force this past weekend and we were looking for some playing time for our 2009 squad. The 2009 squad made a bold statement as we took the 1st place trophy in commanding fashion outscoring our opponents 78 to 5(Unearned) and finishing the tournament with a 6-1 record. The High School teams had no answer for the pitching and hitting of the ELITE girls comprised primarily of 8th graders. Special thanks to Sabrina Gonzalez(92), Cayla Flores(93), and Selina Moreida(93) from our 16U team who provided some added muscle against the bigger and older girls. Selina Moreida(2) and Jessica Mendez(1) had 3 shots that went 205 feet in the 225 ft park.We would like to recognize Pitcher Emma Garcia from Pleasanton, Texas who shut down the opposition she faced in commanding fashion. The ELITE pitchers faced some tough competition to include the 2A State Ranked Halletsville Lady Brahamas who were unable to hit the extremely accurate 8th grader. Emma shut them out 5-0 in the Semi-final game and 4-0 in the Championship game (IF game). Great Job Emma!!The ELITE pitchers were backed by a near perfect defense that was led by 2nd Baseman Lexi Villarreal. Our only loss & runs came at the hands of Halletsville, they managed to hit a bag clearing triple to beat us in the top of the 5th (tied 2-2) of the C-ship game. Thanks Halletsville for the great games!

A combined 18U team comprised of several ELITE players from our 14U and 18U teams blew through the tourney undefeated outscoring all (38-3 unearned runs) behind the stellar pitching of the Port Lavaca Calhoun HS Ace, Cecilia Castillo & Alice Freshman Selina Moreida and the unrelenting hitting attack of the ELITE bats.. Great Job ELITE, way to finish out 2008!!Thanks to our 2 pick-ups for helping !

Grandstands' Round Robin Friendly
November 30, 2008
96 ELITE was in full effect this past weekend at the Grandstands recording victories against:
CC Shock 3-1
Wrecking Crew 5-1
CC Fire 6-0
Diamond Angels Stayed tied 3-3 with 1 out and runner on 3rd with Mariah Clay (Clean Up) up to bat when the game was called!
Greg Flores would also be out there with a 12U team of his own, mainly looking at scouting some talent for the 2009 14U team, the 18U tourney would cancel out so we would play with our 95's. He had 3 97's,1 96, and 6 95's. It turned out good, getting to watch and scout fresh talent. We would record wins against:
Diamond Angels 3-0
Wrecking Kru 9-0
CC Shock 6-3
CC Fire 10-0
We would battle 96 ELITE for the Championship and come away with a ?-0 victory. Good tourney, very proud of the 12U squad for fighting hard all day Sunday, we are happy with the progress you all are making!
Greg Flores.
2008 Ronald McDonald Tourney
November 8, 2008
ELITE got started with a 2-2 tie with Orange County Crush in pool play, then came the SK Impact who we beat 7-0, then we would face off against the Orange County Crush once again and beat 2-0, that would pit us against the hard hitting girls of MC Magic, we would be shut out by stellar pitching and give up 3 errors to lose 5-o. In unfamiliar territory, we would be in the loser's bracket for the 1st time in awhile. We would face off against Austin Storm and get massive hits from our offense to come away with a 7-1 victory. Next up would be the Texas Hawks, who we had beat the previous year 5-2, this time, we would start off sluggish on offense along with dropped balls in the outfield and a bad throw from 3rd, we would fall short 4-3, we had chances to win in the last 2 innings but would fail to come through with clutch hits. I take full responsibilty for not having our girls prepared to play at the Ronnie Mac.

Elite played their last tune-up tourney before heading off to Houston to defend their Ronald McDonald Title. The Elite bats were on fire all weekend and they coasted through the winner's bracket going 6-0 throughout the weekend. Congratulations to Sydney Ramirez for being named the Tourney MVP. Great Job Sydney, we are proud of you and welcome aboard, use that gift card to Myra's wisely. Thank you Rey and Sugie for allowing Sydney to become a part of the ELITE family. You have raised a good kid and we expect more performances like this weekend!! On that note, we would also like to congratulate the 96 South Texas Elite for finishing in second place in the 12U division losing to Hitt Squad in the Ship with the help of a '95 pitcher! In only their second tourney they were able to garner two big wins against two of the most established teams in the Corpus Christi area, CC Shock and Hitt Squad. Great Job girls!!!
T.A.A.F. 14U Fall State Champs ! !
October 11, 2008
Elite was in San Antonio this past weekend but was short a few players on Saturday along with head coach Greg Flores. But we still took the field under coach Ernie Moreida who did an oustanding job filling in. We would face off against the Stix and come away with a good victory. Next up was the fiesty Scorpions who is coached by Rick Rosas, a good friend of the team along with his outstanding pitcher and daughter Bella, who also plays with Elite when they are not playing. The Scorpions would come away with a victory backed by outstanding hitting. The 1st bracket game would put us up against SA Ice and we would top them 9-0, then would come the Texas Tornadoes Blue (2008 12B ASA Southern National Champions). It would turn out to be an error filled game by ELITE and we would lose 5-3. This would be the first time we would be in the losers brackets in over a year. We would have to play an 8am game on Sunday morning. Our head coach would show up along with Flea. 1st off would be the Texas Bandits 96 (2007 10B ASA Southern National Champions) where we would cruise to a 5-4 victory never really worrying about it. Next up would be the Flame Throwers, alot of talk would get going after Flea would get called out on a third strike slap that the umpire ruled a bunt attempt. The fans on the other side got pretty rowdy but would get shut down by the massive hits that ELITE would get off their ACE pitcher. We would runaway with a 10-0 win. Next would be a re-match against the Texas Tornadoes Blue. It would be a different story this time, the Tornadoes Blue still managed 3 runs on 3 errors but our bats would prove to be too much for the Tornadoes pitching, 7-3 victory. We would have to double dip the Kaos in the SHIP but it only took 1 game because with only 8 players(Kaos) and ELITE winning 13-2 with no outs, Nadine Idrogo would hit a shot up the middle and hit the pitcher right on the knee. The Kaos coach would concede the game and tourney. Thanks to Alicia Retana and Stephanie Lopez for picking up with ELITE and helping! Ronnie Mac here we come ! !
Kingsville Fundango 18U Round Robin ! !
October 4, 2008
The Elite 14U picked up Cecilia and Tiffany Castillo from our Attitude team & played in the Kingsville 18U Round Robin going undefeated with a 5-0 record. All the Elite pitchers were credited with wins for the weekend. The ship would prove to be a close game against the McAllen Lady Devils who we had beat on Saturday 11-0. Real close game, with big hits by Alex Zepeda and Cecilia Castillo right back to the pitcher, Elite would prove to be too much with a 4-3 Championship win. Cecilia Castillo would be credited with the win.
Recored wins versus:
Sting 3-0
Lady Devils 11-0
Sting 9-1
Kingsville 3-0
Lady Devils 4-3
Good Job ladies ! ! We are ready for the Ronnie Mac ! !
Kingsville Fundango !!
October 4, 2008
We will kick off the Fall season in full force battling in 3 divisions at the Kingsville Fundango hosted by the Diamond Angels. We will compete in the 12U ( STE96 ), 14U/18U ELITE(ALICE)in the 18U Division. We will set out to make a big statement as to why we are the Premiere Softball Club in South Texas. Our 14u will be looking to get ready for the Ronnie Mac tourney in Spring Klein and our 16U will be headed to Colorado for the Fireworks Showcase in Aurora,CO next July !! Our 12U coached by Joel Barbosa and Temo Villarreal made a huge statement when they won the Labor Day Tourney held at the Grand Stands in Corpus Christi going 6-0 and outscoring everyone 49-2. Pitcher Bella Rosas no hit the entire tourney backed by stellar defense and an explosive offense!! Good luck to all teams and we wish you the best from the ELITE Staff!!

Schlitterbahn Make-up 14U !!
August 16, 2008
Well we battled all day in San Marcos and showed once again why we are the team to beat when we travel. We started off the day playing the Scorpions and we fought them to a tough 5-3 finish !! We would then face off with Awesome Storm out of Seguin, late in the game we would find ourselves trailing 4-1 going into the last at bat. The bats would come alive and we would bat non-stop for 15 minutes with 1 out and a score of 11-4, the game would be called. We would add another WIN. That would pit us against a scrappy '96 Austin Finest team where we would struggle to hit the slow pitching. Final score 2-1, we would prevail, not the prettiest victory but that would do. We would wait around to face the Corps Gold in the Championship where we would explode on offense for a 12-0 Victory once again proving why we are the best around the area. The team here consisted of our '09 14U squad( '94 & '95 ). This team is gonna be one to be reckoned with in the Spring of '09. We will be in action on the 4-5 of October in Kingsville and then in San Antonio on the 11-12 at the Alva Jo Fischer complex. Watch Out because ELITE is looking for the next Victory and its coming soon to a field near you !!

Special thanks to the coaching staff, specifically Greg Flores and Aaron Trigo.. These guys are a class act and it showed as the girls fought their way back to victory the last two games.. Thanks for believing in our girls and never giving up on them. Aaron thanks for hauling the girls around in the bus and making sure they got what they needed!!

July 12, 2008
What a weekend!! Congrats on your third place finish in our second 18U tourney this year, Once again the South Texas area was well represented. Congrats to the South Texas Hot Stuff and the Kingsville Rage for their top finishes. We battled hard all weekend, we would go undefeated into the Semi-Final that put us against South Texas Hot Stuff (2007 16U Ronald McDonald Champions), having played each other tons of times in the past years we knew it would be a battle !! We quickly would go down 3-0, but Leandra would respond right back with a double off the left field fence scoring Barbie from Second. Then going into the top of the 5th with 2 outs and back-back singles from Barbie and Selina, Leandra would again come thru in the clutch with a bag clearing triple down the right field line where I would send her in when the throw to 3RD goes under the SS and a close play at the plate would go against us for the 3RD out. Hot Stuff would beat us in their last at bat 4-3. This would force us to battle it out against a rival of ours who we had just beat the previous Wednesday, the Kingsville Rage (2008 16UB ASA Southern National Champions) going into the last at bat and ELITE only needing 3 outs to knock off RAGE 3-0, their bats would come alive and a few costly errors by ELITE would send us packing 6-3!! Total of 24 teams !! Thanx to Aaron's brother for the bus ride and what an adventure that was.. Good Job Elite!

Great Job Elite!! First place in our first 18U tourney this year.. Way to go ladies.. Congrats to our sister team, STE Attitude 18U for their second place finish. Way to go STE, you made us proud..
Bomber Shootout 2008 !!
Congrats ELITE on battling thru the toughest bracket in the tourney !! #3 bracket would consist of teams like the American Freedom, Batbusters(Montoya), Texas Glory 94, SA Hitt. Right off the bat we would face off with BB in pool play where we would show them nothing and they would beat us 5-2, then came the BLAZE(Prinzo) who we would tie in what was a pitchers duel with our Selina and their pitcher 0-0. Rematch with BB(Montoya) 1st bracket, we would beat them in a tough battle 3-2 behind awesome pitching from Nadine Idrogo, then came the Glory who snuck by us 2-0 on 2 costly errors, Selina Moreida would record 11 strikeouts against Texas Glory, the kid was on fire throwing BB's. We beat another team from Dallas (Lights Out) to set up a showdown against American Freedom, being a little nervous because of all the hype surrounding the team, we would go 7 scoreless innings against them and finally beat them 1-0 when Nadine would draw a throw from the catcher at 3RD and the catcher would launch it to Left Field !! We then beat the Hitt 3-1 and then eventually get knocked out by the 94 Bombers 2-1 where the umpire almost forced us to throw down the middle because of his strike zone !! We finished tied for 7TH place along side Texas Storm (7th Place) 14U ASA/USA "A" Nationals. There were 40 teams in the tourney !!
2007 Schlitterbahn Softball Festival!!!!
Runner-ups at the 2007 Schlitterbahn Softball Festival !! Our Record, we went undefeated to the championship only to get beat by a team that we had beat in our 1st bracket game, El Paso Texas Sluggers 6-2. Our wins included:
Texas Sluggers 6-2 ( W )
Team Shock 7-1 ( W )
Hearts Of Texas 2-1 ( W ) Combo of 3 teams-Bombers,HOT,Connexion
Cannons 12-0 ( W )
Bombers Navy 6-4 2pm ( W ) Played with w/out Greg and Asst Coach
Texas Sluggers 2-4 9:30pm ( L ) Championship ! 2008 Schlitterbahn in August !
7 hour layoff really put our bats to sleep, Congrats to Alex Galvan(Ace Pitcher from Sting) for being our workhorse through out tourney, you pitched a hell of a tourney!
Greg Flores
2007 Ronald McDonald Champions !!
STE fought hard all weekend in Spring Klein,TX at the Famous Ronald McDonald Showcase going undefeated and taking the hardware back to South Texas! 1ST bracket game pit us against the Hartselle Heat out of Alabama where we came away with a 1-0 victory! Next in line was the Texas Hawks, who we would beat 5-3 behind outstanding pitching from Kayla Trevino and Cecilia Castillo. This would send us into Sunday to face off with the Groove, trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the 6th (last inning) Salina Chapa led off with a stand up triple, Lexi (Flea) would bring her in with a slap hit in the 5-6 hole, Lynette would then hit to SS and Lexi would force out at 2nd. Sam Walsh would then get to 1st with a BB, that would bring up Tiff who then cleared the bases with a 3 bagger off the right center field fence. We would win 4-2 when the game was called !! With that victory, we would meet the Round Rock Crush who had eliminated us from PONY Nationals a couple months before that ! We had already faced the Crush in pool play and had tied 0-0. Like always it was a tough battle to the end where we won 2-0. This put us in a battle against the infamous TEXAS PEPPERS, having heard of this team and their rep., they sure gave us a game. We would go 7 innings tied 0-0, then ITB where they would jump on us 2-0, well our girls did what they had done all weekend and fought back to score 3 in the bottom half and come away with a 3-2 victory !! That would send us to the Ship where we would eventually face off with the PEPPERS 1 more time. We beat them 5-2 and the celebration began. This would put us on the map in Texas as far as SOFTBALL was concerned. We are now 1 of the Premiere Softball Powerhouses South of I-10. Congrats South Texas Elite !! Good luck at the RMT in November of 2008 !!
