WHWA is a non-profit recreation program open for participation to children in Warren, Watchung, Long Hill & Greenbrook, ages 5 – 14.
The WHWA Midget Team (3rd-6th Grade) competes in the Central Jersey Midget Wrestling League - one of the premier recreational wrestling leagues in the state of New Jersey. Teams in this league include Cranford, Berkeley Heights, Bridgewater, Flemington, Hillsborough, Kenilworth, Middlesex, North Plainfield, North Hunterdon, Plainfield, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, South Plainfield, Union, Voorhees, Watchung Hills, and Westfield.
The WHWA Middle School Team (6th-8th Grade) competes in the elite New Jersey Grade School League, which includes Belvidere, Bridgewater, Del Val, Flemington, High Point, Hillsborough, Kenilworth, Kittatinny, Newton, North Hunterdon, North Warren, Phillipsburg, Rahway, Randolph, South Plainfield, Voorhees, Warren Hills, Watchung Hills, and Westfield.
Each season we work with young athletes to teach both the technical aspects of wrestling and proper sportsmanship.
Our goal is to provide participants with an athletic environment that:
o Promotes self-confidence
o Fosters social abilities
o Develops important life skills
o Rewards persistence, dedication, and character
