The Wolves Wrestling Club is an Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF) and USA Wrestling affiliated club for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Our primary goal is to prepare young athletes to be good people and successful high school wrestlers. This includes academics as well as athletics.
We are an IRS designated 501c(3) Charitable Organization and an Illinois based Not-For-Profit Corporation. All of our coaches, board members, and committee chairs are volunteers, and all revenue generated from fundraising activities goes directly to offset the costs of running the club and to support the Prairie Ridge High School wrestling program.
We are fully supported by the Prairie Ridge High School Wrestling coaching staff led by their Head Coach - Trey Breeden. Coach Breeden or a member of his staff attends our practices which are held in the Prairie Ridge High School wrestling balcony. The presence of high school wrestling coaches at our practices and the full support of the high school staff and administration is one of our great assets as a club and we are truly grateful for it.
The Wolves Wrestling Club is open to all wrestlers who share our goals.
This inculdes those who live in the Crystal Lake Park District boundaries, and those in the Crystal Lake, McHenry, Lake in the Hills, Huntley, Lakewood, Prarie Grove, and Woodstock school districts.
In addition to the high school coaches at our practice, Wolves Wrestling Club coaches have received the Bronze level of certification by USA Wrestling National Coaches Education Program. Our head coach Tony Piotrowski is a former IHSA Class AA State Champion wrestler (1984, Wauconda HS, 119 lbs.). Coach Piotrowski also wrestled NCAA Division I for the Northern Illinois University Huskies. Coach Piotrowski is not the only experienced wrestler on our coaching staff. Coach Marchese was a two-time IHSA class AA runner up and wrestled NCAA Division I for Illinois State. Coach McEvilly was the head coach of Wauconda High School from 1981 - 1984. We are currently in the process of adding additional coaches with IHSA head coaching experience.
Aside from having great wrestling credentials and strong community support, our club also prides itself in maintaining the highest level of integrity in all areas.
