2008 NW4A CHAMPS!
2008 has been the year of the Rocket in the Northwestern 4A Conference. Last spring the Lady Rockets won the '08 Conference Title and on Monday night the men's team staked their claim to the title as well. Congratulations to the 2008 AC Reynolds Rockets for winning the Northwestern 4A Conference Championship. The title is the Rockets third in the past 4 seasons and 4th overall since joining the league in 2002. There are still two conference games left, but the Rockets (17-2-0 overall, 10-0-0 in conference play) have already clinched by virtue of their 6-3 overtime win against Watauga on Monday night, completing the season sweep of the Pioneers. The team will next play on Monday night at South Caldwell HS.

Lady Rockets Leave No Doubt at McDowell
Any doubts about who would capture the conference title this year were quickly erased in Marion. The 2-time defending conference champs took one step closer to a 3-peat with a convincing 5-1 win over McDowell. Last year's NW4A Conference Player of the Year, Kat Lenhart, showed once again why she is one of the premier players in the state. Kat scored the games first 4 goals, leaving Titans in the dust left and right all night long. Fellow senior captain Katie Douglas recorded the 5th goal to throw some dirt on top of McDowell, putting ACR up 5-0 with 20 minutes remaining in the game. Katie added 2 assists as well in the game. Some well-deserved rest was then given to the starters as they got an opportunity to enjoy the work they had done from the bench for a change. McDowell would add a late goal to make the final score 5-1. Sivan Levine, Alice Langrall, and Shenny Lenhart each added assists, while freshman goalkeeper Katie Cavagnini came up big with 9 saves in goal. The win puts the Lady Rockets at 9-0-0 in conference play, giving them a 2 game lead with 3 games to play.

Both teams had shots hit the crossbar and post, but there would be no more goals until the penalty kick session.
