***Parker Bridwell Signs with the Baltimore Orioles***
Bridwell, who graduated from Hereford High last spring, signed a contract to pitch for the Baltimore Orioles late Friday night. He has reported to the Orioles minor league camp in Sarasota, Fla. for evaluation.
These young men have been chosen to represent the Mountain West region in the USA Baseball National Team Identification Series. The tournament will take place September 10-12, 2010 at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Players in their age groups from all regions of the country will participate in this tournament. We are proud of these young men and what they have accomplished. This was a showcase event with the top players in each age group from Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado and Nevada. The showcase was held in Salt Lake City. The ABA is proud of the way all these young men represented our area.

Congrats to Blake Swihart, he was named to the 18U USA National Team!! He will also compete in the AFLAC All-American Game August 15th. Blake got his baseball start in Amarillo and at the Double J baseball facility. He now resides in Rio Rancho, NM and trains at the Albuquerque Baseball Academy. Blake will graduate in 2011 and is committed to play collegiately at the University of Texas. We will keep up with his exploits and keep you informed.
**Update**
Blake led the USA 18U National Team with a .448 batting average and a team best 5 home runs.
Congrats to ABA members that competed in the 16U USA Baseball "Best of the West" Championships in Peoria AZ.
