The Bayonne Division of Recreation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Bayonne by providing high quality recreation and cultural programs, which meets the needs of all segments of our community.
The Senior Center @ 56th Street was given a very informative lecture on Stroke Prevention on Tuesday February 9th. Seniors were also given a free blood pressure screening, courtesy of the Bayonne Medical Center. Pictured are the seniors, along with the guest speekers, and Ralph Savo, 56th St. Senior Center Coordinator.

Horticulture - The Division of Recreation Senior Center @ 56th Street held its regular weekly meeting with Horticulturist Lou Seagull on Wednesday, February 3rd. Lou comes every Wednesday to the 56th St. Senior Center, and the seniors have a new project each meeting. If you'd like to join the club, you may call (201) 437-5996 or call (201) 858-6129. The club meets every Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00am. Pictured with the club is 56th St.Center Coordinator Ralph Savo.

HEARTS FOR HAITI - The Division of Recreation has joined the "Hearts for Haiti", and will be taking donations at all Recreation League games. Pictured above is Thomas Jacobson, Director of Physical Education, Official Joe Hurley, Official Ed Broderick, and two players of the Division of Recreation's Boys' Elementary Basketball League.
Contributions made in cash will be deposited in the Bayonne Hearts for Haiti account, which will convey the funds to the American Red Cross via check.

Bayonne Recreation to Support
American Red Cross Haitian Relief
The Division of Recreation will take contributions at all of their current leagues, which include the Co-Ed Indoor Floor Hockey League, the Men’s Indoor Basketball League, the Co-Ed Indoor Volleyball League, and the Elementary Boys’ Basketball League.
Contributions made in cash will be deposited in the Bayonne Hearts for Haiti account, which will convey the funds to the American Red Cross via check. People and businesses wishing to write their own checks to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief should do so, and send the checks to Office of the Mayor, City Hall, 630 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ 07002.
The Division of Recreation's Senior Art Class has displayed some of their amazing paintings in the City Hall Display Case.

ROLLER SKATING! Recreation's Kids' Travel Club took a trip to the Woodbridge Roller Rink on Saturday, January 16th. The Kids enjoyed skating, pizza, and even visited the arcade!

Thank You! The Bayonne Firemen threw their annual Holiday Party for the Recreation Ability Program at the Recreation Firehouse on Tuesday, December 22nd. The members of the Ability Program enjoyed pizza, music, and each received a t-shirt, courtesy of the Firemen.
SANTA! Recreation's Pre-School Class was given a holiday treat when Santa Claus paid a visit! Santa told Christmas Stories and gave out candy canes to all the children! Pictured is Mrs. Donna Killmer's Class with Santa.
HOLIDAY PARTY! The Recreation Kids' Travel Club held their annual Holiday Party on December 19th. The Kids enjoyed pizza, ice cream cake, watched the movie Elf, and there was a visit from Santa! Each kid left the party with a gift!

QUILT CLUB! The Bayonne Quilt Club recently held their annual Christmas Party at the 4th St. Senior Center. The club enjoyed sandwiches, salads, and some holiday dessert! Holiday Party! The Bayonne Recreation Arts & Crafts Program recently held their Annual Holiday Party at the Senior Center at 4th Street. The kids were treated to pizza, cupcakes, and some holiday arts & crafts! Pictured with the kids is Arts & Crafts Director, Mr. Bill O'Brien.
HOLIDAY PARTY! The Bayonne Recreation Arts & Crafts Program threw a Holiday Pizza Party for the Ability Day Camp on Tuesday, December 16th. There was also cupcakes and a special holiday raffle!
Thank you! Bayonne Recreation would like to thank Vinny Sita of Pizza Masters for donating pizza's to the Bayonne Recreation Pre-School Program. The pre-schoolers enjoyed great pizza after they sang Christmas Carols for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Pre-School class made Vinny a thank you card, shown in the picture.

CHAMPIONS! Roccos are the 2009 American Division Champions in the Adult Touch Football League! Roccos defeated Yung Money, 55-39 to capture their 2nd straight title. Roccos will now face ALL DAY on Sunday for the League Championship.
