Football Pool For A Great Cause
My husband and I are in the spirit of giving, and we want to help his friend Chris Grady. His sons Drew, 5, and Trent, 2 were just diagnosed with Batten's disease in Feb.. It's a rare debilitating childhood disease that will leave both boys immobile and blind. They will likely die before middle school too, and there is no cure. The parents are hoping to raise enough money, $500,000, to qualify for a drug trail that will slow the progression of the disease. Right now little Trent runs around like any other toddler and tries to help his brother who is mostly wheelchair bound and is on a feeding tube. Everyday the Grady's have to watch Trent for signs that the disease is now affecting him...it usually starts it's deadly path at 3 years old. Their little toddler has no idea that he will soon be in a wheelchair like his brother.

This story is sadly very true. My husband has known Chris since he was in college. We are going to do a Steeler's pool and all of the proceeds will benifit the family. Details and links to their story are below:

Steeler's Pool to Benefit the Grady Family
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pool will take place on Sunday, Dec. 20th for the Steeler's vs. Packers Game. The cost will be $10.00 per block. There will be 100 blocks total. Once the 100 blocks are sold we will randomly draw names out of a hat for the blocks. After the names are on the blocks we will randomly draw the numbers for the Steelers and Packers. I will then e-mail a copy of the pool to everyone involved. There will be a $200 pot for the half-time score and a $200 pot for the final score. So for $10 you have two chances to win $200 right before Christmas.

If you would like to participate in the pool you can PayPal $10 (or more) to CoachB611@gmail.com . Please click on the personal tab so that we do not have to pay the PayPal fees, and make sure you include your name (you can do last initial) and phone number in the comments section so that I can get a hold of you if you win. If you would like to mail a check e-mail me and I'll provide our address.

Here's a link to their story on WTAE.TV LINK and the Pittsburgh Channel(printed article).

Thanks for taking the time to read this and considering to help an extraordinary family in need,
Shannon Bucci

P.S. Please feel free to pass this on to family and friends.

Thank you-Shannon and Steve Bucci

Night At The Races - Chinese Auction Committee
Hello Everyone!

The members of the Chinese Auction Committee for the Monte Carlo evening are searching for some basket stuffers! We have some basket themes that we are looking for donations that relate to the theme of the basket. If anyone knows someone who might donate or would like to donate a prize themselves for the basket, we would greatly appreciate it! Here are the themes we are looking for:

*City of Pittsburgh Night Out-restaraunts, tickets to events, overnight hotel stay
*Around Bethel Park-restaraunts, businesses, services, Hawk apparell
*Penguins-tickets, merchandise etc
*Steelers-mostly merchandise since the season will be over
*Service Basket-we already have things such as a spring yard clean up, oil change and lube, window washing, dry cleaning services (we could always use more)
*Pirates-we already have 4 tickets donated thanks to some wonderful baseball parents!
*Spa Package-manicures, pedicures, massage session, great smelling lotions etc

If you can help out or have some connection, we would greatly appreciate it. Please e-mail one of the committee members and let us know. We would like to have these baskets wrapped up by Christmas! Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
